Chapter 34

Jo Insung was pondering. He looked at Tiffany's medical chart, but his brain just couldn't process anything.

"Jo Seonsaengnim," Tiffany's voice woke him up.

"Yes, Fany ssi?" Insung smiled. "How do you feel?" That girl still looked so weak. She still needed a ventilator machine to help her breathe more easily. Tiffany was lucky she could wake up from her coma. But that didn't mean her condition was any better. Death was still around the corner, lurking and waiting for a chance to snatch her away from this cruel world.

"Can I get a medical treatment somewhere else?"

Dr. Jo raised his eyebrow. "Why do you want to be treated somewhere else?"

"I don't want Taehyung to find me here." Tiffany looked at the falling snowflakes outside her window. Sooyoung told her what had happened to Taehyung. Sooyoung's aunt said that Grandpa Kim took Taehyung to a foreign country when he was unconscious. That old man did that only to separate his grandson from her. From a dying girl like her. So that Taehyung wouldn't have to suffer even more.

"Don't you love Taehyung anymore?"

Tiffany faintly smiled. "I can't ruin Taehyung's life. Jo Seonsaengnim once told me that I only had 20% chances to fully recover. And if I don't make it, I don't want Taehyung to see my death."

Jo Insung squeezed the pen in his hand. "You will be cured, Fany ssi. There are a lot of past examples that leukemia can be cured."

Tiffany slowly shook her head, "if.... It's just an if.... If in case I don't make it."

"And what if you survive and are completely cured?" dr. Jo bit his bottom lip, "will you go back to Kim Taehyung?"

Tiffany turned her head to watch the snowflakes fall onto the trees' branches outside her window. "Maybe by that time Taehyung has already forgotten me...." Deep down inside, Tiffany didn't even believe her own words.

Dr. Jo stood still beside Tiffany's bed. For a moment, they were surrounded by silence and loneliness.

"Fany ssi," Insung finally found a courage to say what he had been wanting to say, "I'm going to study in Germany.... Won't you come with me? I promise I will ensure your medical treatment. They're more advanced in cancer treatment technology than us."

Tiffany looked at Insung for a few seconds. She smiled and weakly nodded.

When Taehyung came to the hospital, he found Tiffany's bed had been empty.  He quickly ran to the nurse station. His mind was tangled. He prayed and prayed nothing had happened to his lover. A nurse told him that Tiffany had waken up from her coma. Taehyung couldn't be much happier than that moment. His tears rolled down uncontrollably. He was so grateful that God listened to his prayer.

But Taehyung had to let his heart crush once again when he couldn't find Tiffany anywhere. Their apartment was empty. Tiffany didn't take anything. She didn't even leave any note.

And when he couldn't find Tiffany at SNSD Coffee Shop, Taehyung came back to the hospital to see dr. Jo Insung. But a nurse told him that dr. Jo had resigned.

On his last attempt, Taehyung visited Tiffany's father's house in Busan. Their neighbor said that Mr. Hwang had moved out to be with his daughter and nobody knew where he had moved to.[]
