Chapter 8 Alyssa

Today had been the Hufflepuff table. It generally was considering that four of the seven of us were Puffs. After the conversation with Rose, Lyla and I had quickly made our way down to the Great Hall to get a bite to eat with the group before heading over to the library. Well, quick was a relative term. The girls ate quickly and we're ready to start studying, the boys weren't as motivated. Or they just wanted more food. Sometimes it was hard to tell. When the boys finally finished we made our way to the library. I of course was the first one there. My legs were the longest out of the girls and the boys still lacked the motivation to walk faster. I pulled out the textbooks I needed as soon as we got there and claimed a table as everyone else filed in.

"Gods you guys are slow" I complained.

"You walk so fast!" Lyla complained, "and Mel's short legs don't carry her as far as yours do."

Mel ignored the teasing and sat down next to me.

"What's your excuse?" I asked the boys.

"I just don't wanna be here" Barry answered. Typical.

"Way to be honest Bear" Mel said, affectionately using her nickname for him. I smiled and we all went to work.

Rose showed up about twenty minutes in. "Sorry in late" she said, "Scorpius was being an oblivious idiot as usual."  The boys looked up in surprise at her voice.

"This is Rose Weasley" I told them, "my roommate. And this is Stef, Barry, and Aaron." I pointed to them each in turn.

"We don't get last names?" Aaron asked, jokingly.

"You don't deserve them" I told him, completely casual. We shared a smile. "So Rose, what do you need help with in Arithmancy? Lyla's the best at it but Aaron, Stef and I are taking it too. Barry and Mel are in Ancient Runes."

"I get the concepts" I admitted, "but Scorp ditched me and I just like having people to study with. Speaking of: is there any way possible you could tutor my cousin? I really don't want to do it plus I'm stressing out about this test."

"Which one?"

"Potions"

"No I mean which cousin" I clarified.

"Albus" she smirked. Of course all the boys chose now to stop studying and look up. Each with a mischevious smile on their face.

"Oh um sure" I replied, trying to sound nonchalant, "um when?"

"Tomorrow?"

"Um okay" of course I couldn't stop saying um. The boys would never let me hear the end of it.

"Thanks!" Rose grinned. I could tell she was thinking the same thing as them. 

As soon as Rose left a few hours later, the boys pounced. "So Albus Potter huh?" Barry asked, seemingly still smiling from the original conversation.

"Yes I'm tutoring him" I replied, staying calm, "what's wrong with that?"

"Nothing" Stef said.

"But will it just be tutoring?" Aaron asked, raising his eyebrows in what he thought was questioning but really just looked weird.

"Hey!" I said, slapping him playfully, "be nice. It's not like I fancy him. "

"Or do you?" Mel asked. Barry gave her a high five.

"Not you too!" I complained.

"If it helps I'll stay out of it" Iris smiled reassuringly.

"Thank you!" I responded, "finally someone who can mind their own business."

"Albus Potter is hot!" Lyla said, "I'm making it my business whether you like it or not."

"Great" I said sarcastically.

"Aaaand we're leaving" Aaron said. The boys packed up their bags and began to walk out the door.

"That's only because you know it's true!" Lyla yelled after them.

"SHHHHHHHH"
