Chapter 24 Rose

The rest of the summer hols had passed by quickly. They had been pretty much the same as the ones that had preceded them, though with the addition of Alyssa and sometimes Iris and Melanie. Alyssa had spent most of the summer at the Burrow to hang out with us, mostly meaning Al. Scorp had spent a lo of time with us too. He claimed it was to be with Al since Al never made time for him anymore, but i kind of hoped that at least a little part of him was there to be with me. I knew that after dating all those girls he was probably over me. Actually, it was never a sure thing that he had fancied me in the first place, but a girl could hope. I had never actually dated Scorp, but I still knew I'd probably never completely get over him. He was one of the first guys I'd ever really fancied and it was hard to forget that. Anyways, he ended up spending most of his time with me since Al and Alyssa were always together. Not that it was bad, it gave Scorp and I more time together and it wasn't like they were grossing us out or anything. They genuinely liked to spend time together and get to know one another, not just snog each other all the time. It was nice for the rest of us, who wanted to spend time with them and actually be able to have a real conversation. They were always near one another, but not too close to the point where they hung over one another and it was awkward to try to have a conversation.
Today we were all going to Diagonal Alley to get our school supplies. Vic and Teddy were supervising since there was an entire clan of second-generation Weasley-Potters (and Co.) going as a group. We'd probably all split up in the end, but this way we could assure our parents that none of us would try anything too stupid. By the time we all got there by floo, half the group had already left.  Vic and Teddy were sticking with the younger ones, all the cousins who had already graduated had gone to look around, probably in Quality Quidditch supplies or the Weasley store. Fred, Roxanne, James, and Alice, whom he had brought along, were headed to the potions supply store to replenish their stocks. That left Alyssa with August in tow, Al, Scorp, and I to go to the book store.

"I have to go help August find his books" Alyssa told us when we entered.

"I'll go with you" Al said, taking her hand. Scorpius gave me a look and I rolled my eyes.

"No worries" Scorp told them, "meet at the front in thirty?"

I started walking off to go find my books. "Rosie wait up" I heard Scorp call from behind me. I turned around to wait for him and we made our way over to find the sixth year transfiguration book. After that we split up. I needed a book for muggle studios and he needed one for astronomy. I walked over to look for the book.

"Hey Rose" I heard from behind me.

"Scorp I-" I turned around, "Oh sorry, I thought you were Scorpius."

"Actually it's Anthony. Parrish." I must've looked confused because he added "sixth ear Ravenclaw. We have muggle studies together."

"Oh yeah" I said, "I remember now, sorry."

"No worries" he said, "Are you looking for the new muggle studies book? I found it already it's over here." Anthony pulled out the book and handed it to me, our hands just barely brushing.

"Thanks" I said, blushing, "it probably would've taken me forever to find it."

"Good thing I was here to help then" Anthony told me.

"Yeah good thing." I was barely breathing.

"I'll see you around then Rose."

"Yeah at school maybe." He smile at me before leaving with his books.

"Rose!" I heard yet again.

"Yes?" I turned around hopefully.

"What are you doing?" Scorpius asked, "we're supposed to meet them at the front in five minutes!"

"Oh sorry" I said, distracted still.

"Are you okay?" Scorp asked, "you seem a little... um... distracted?"

"Oh no I'm fine" I assured him, though I was still flustered.

"Who were you talking with?" He asked.

"Anthony Parrish" I said, "He's a sixth year Ravenclaw in my muggle studies class. He was helping me find my books. Isn't that nice?"

"Sure" Scorpius said, "real nice."

"Oh!" I exclaimed, "we should go find the group! We're supposed to meet them now."
