"Ate!"
Nanlaki ang mga mata ko nung may isang babae ang naglalakad sa gawi ko. She is smiling ear-to-ear.
"Ate!" may sumunod lumitaw na lalaki sa likuran ng babae at nagulat ako nung nakita ko si Inigo.
Tumigil sa harap ko ang babae kaya napatingin ako sa kaliwa't kanan ko, making sure kung ako ba ang pinuntahan niya. Wala namang tao dito kundi ako kaya nagtaka ako.
I gave them a confused look. If I'm not mistaken, this is Inigo's ate, as he stated a while ago.
"U-uh." I looked at her. She is smiling at me while holding her hands dreamily.
That was when I remembered something. I snapped. Ngayon dadating ang ate ni Inigo! Which is the girl standing right at front of me! Pero, kilala ba niya ako? Ba't niya ko nilapitan? Do I even know her bukod sa ate siya ni Inigo?
I scanned her. She is a tall girl and she's probably on her early twenties. Maputi at makinis siya at halatang galing sa mayamang pamilya. She is a combination of chinita and western-ish, if that's a thing. She has an angelic face and she resembles Inigo in a feminine way. She has a long black silky hair complementing her white skin. She has soft features making her look friendly in a way.
"Hi!" she enthusiastically waved at me.
"U-uh." why is she here again?
"H-hello?" I awkwardly smiled at her and looked at Inigo na pinagpapawisan na.
"Ate, it's not what you're thinking. Hindi siya—"
"Are you my baby brother's girlfriend?" she asked me, her eyes twinkling.
"Girlfriend?" I unconsciously cited.
Girlfriend? What girlfriend? Me?
"Yes, you." she smiled again.
"Me?" blankong tanong ko.
Panong girlfriend? I'm confused.
"Yes—" Inigo interrupted her.
"Sorry, miss. She misunderstood me." sabi ni Inigo saakin with his "oh-so-manly" voice.
"H-huh?" I'm really confused here.
"Baby bro, you don't have to hide it. I saw you looking here ka—"
"Ate, no. Halika na. Nagkakamali ka ng inaakala." Inigo tried to drag her but she resisted.
I'm here looking stupid. Nagpabalik-balik ang tingin ko sakanilang dalawa.
"Ate." Inigo looked at her and seems like he's pleading and at the same time warning her.
"Baby bro, it's my first time visiting here tapos ang rude mo saakin." she pouted like a baby. "Why won't you just introduce your girlfriend to me? She seems nice." and she winked at me.
"Ate, wala akong girlfriend, okay?! Hindi ko nga siya kilala eh! If you're not convinced then ask her!" Inigo shouted pero hindi naman gaanong malakas. Parang kinokontrol niya yung tono niya, probably, respect for his 'ate'.
The girl looked at me, "You don't know my brother?" she asked me, pouting again.
"U-uh..." well, yeah, I actually know him 'secretly'.
"N-no." I answered.
Disappointment was evident on her face when I answered 'no'.
"I'm sorry, miss." she smiled at me again, apologizing.
