Used the song "Secrets" by OneRepublic.

"Today's the day," Barbra muttered to herself.

"What was that, sweetheart?" James Gordon asked from the driver's seat, adjusting the badge on his chest.

Barbra shook her head. "Nothing, Dad." She leaned across and kissed his cheek. "Thanks for the ride! I'll see you after school." She shut the door behind herself, but her father rolled down the window.

"I love you!" He called.

Barbra nodded knowingly, and waved after him as the car pulled away. He always said it, because he was afraid, every day when he went off to work, that he would never be able to tell her that again.

She shuddered to think about how he would react if he ever found out her secret.

I need another story
Something to get off my chest
My life gets kinda boring
Need something that I can confess

Well, she couldn't stop now. It was like a fire she couldn't put out. Barbra ran up the steps to Gotham Academy, thinking about what she'd done the night before. Trying to forget what had happened last night.

Batman hadn't been around in a while, and Barbra had heard the gunshots almost right outside her door. She saw the signal, she knew that she could help.

But she couldn't. She had gotten there too late, even with all the medical and police training she'd gotten from her dad, the most she could do for the man who lay bleeding on the floor was tell him that his kids were safe, and that she would keep an eye out for them. Then she left his cowardly shooter for the police. Even as they shoved him into a high-security prisoner transport vehicle bound for Arkham, Barbra could hear him screaming about a demon girl who had attacked him.

'Til all my sleeves are stained red
From all the truth that I've said
Come by it honestly I swear
Thought you saw me wink, no
I've been on the brink

She had to tell someone.

No matter how much training she had, she couldn't carry the weight of this on her own. Even Superman had the Justice League to help him, and Batman had Robin. Maybe Batgirl needed a sidekick too.

Barbra entered the courtyard and spotted Richard Grayson, Artemis Crock, and Bette Kane standing around, chatting idly before classes started.

Artemis spotted Barbra walking towards them, and tapped Richard on the shoulder. The ward of Bruce Wayne turned around and tugged at the collar of his school uniform. He waved a quick good-bye to Bette and Artemis and headed towards Barbra.

Rick. Rick! He'd been her friend for three years, and no matter what the school or life threw at them, they'd always had each other's backs. No matter how annoying Rick got, or how much Barbra treated him like a kid (as Rick complained), they'd always come through for each other.

"Rick!" Barbra picked up speed and ran the rest of the way to Richard.

"Hey Babs-" he started.

"I have something I need to tell you!" the two said at the same time.

So tell me what you want to hear
Something that will light those ears
Sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away

Barbra and Rick looked at each other in shock for a moment, both of them turning a little red.

"You first," Barbra insisted. Rick was just about to say that she should go first, when the bell rang. Barbra cursed the stupid bell schedule's innate ability to interrupt at the most crucial moments, and failure end a class when she felt it was time to go.
