"Guess what?"

"Uh, it was so important you had to wake me up two hours before school started?" Karen groaned into the phone. Mal was always up early for football practice, and sometimes they stayed up late talking or texting on the phone, but Mal had never called her this early.

"Look out your window." Karen rolled her eyes, hearing the dorky smile in her "big-and-tough" boyfriend.

"Okay, okay, I'm going," Karen slowly sat up and tucked her phone between her ear and her shoulder. She slid her feet into her slippers and pulled her bathrobe on tightly. Even in her bedroom it was cold.

She pulled back the curtains, looking down into her backyard, and dropped the phone.

"Do you like it?" she heard Mal ask from the phone. She didn't bother to hang up, she was already running down the stairs and out the back door.

"You're the best boyfriend ever!" She cried, running across the freshly-fallen snow and into Mal's arms.

"Babe, where's your coat? You're gonna freeze!" Mal said.

"Shut up and kiss me!" Karen said. Mal didn't argue with that.

Karen rested her head on Mal's shoulder, looking down at what he'd written in the snow.

"I LOVE YOU" Was carefully traced in the almost untouched snow in Mal's huge footprints.

"I love you too, Babe."

Mal kisse dher forehead, wrapping his arms around her tightly.

"Come on, I'll go make you some hot chocolate while you get dressed. and then we can play outside some more. Okay?"

"Okay," Karen laughed as Mal picked her up so her feet wouldn't get cold. she certainly wasn't sleepy anymore.

MAL AND KAREN ARE OTP AND THEY DESERVE MORE LOVE. MAL IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND KAREN IS SO FREAKING SMART THEY ARE THE BEST COUPLE IN YJ Y'ALL CAN FIGHT ME.
