It was an early, gloomy morning when Alexander's eyes fluttered open. The cold scent of rain was peeking through the small cracks of the window and the glistening sunshine shone in to bright up the room. Alexander's alarm beeped loudly piercing through his ears. Worst sound he could ever think of. It was his first day of college. He was dreading it. He really was.
Alex's parents while being alive at the time, were too poor to afford any regular schooling for him and his brother James as they lived in Nevis and later moved to St. Croix. Life was pretty hard back there. Frightening scenes of hurricanes and strong tsunamis, people suffering from incurable fevers, small toddlers screaming for their parents. His cousin found out about Alex's unsettling life and decided to help him out. He took him to a better place. New York was so different. A good different. It was full of life and busy streets. Tall buildings and rushed businessmen and Alex wished to be a part of it. So here he is, starting college with no one at his side. Maybe it'll get better, he reassured himself. And with that being said he says goodbye to his cousin and rushes out of the door to try and find his way around the hectic neighbourhoods.
A solid 55 minutes later, the tall, towering building is standing in front of Alexander's small figure.
"Hey man, you alright? You're gonna get knocked over if you stand here any longer" A manly voice speaks to him.
"Oh yes, sorry. Alexander Hamilton" He reaches his hand out for the taller man to shake.
"Aaron Burr, sir"
"Nice to meet you" He replies
"And you. Would you like me to show you to your dorm?"
"Umm, yes. I'm new and I'm not really used to this liveliness"
"I figured"
"Have you got a dorm key?" Burr says.
Hamilton simply replies with "No"
"Okay well there's the reception, you'll need to ask the lady for your dorm key and schedule. See you around, yeah?"
"Yes, see you later!" Alex waves and hurries to the provocative-looking woman at the desk.
"Hello, I'm Alex. Hamilton. May I have my dorm key and schedule, please?"
Not even a greeting exits the lady's mouth as she hands him the papers and key.
"Thanks" He says and find a his way to the dorm.
Finally, Alexander is on the doorstep to the dorm room '1776'. He knocks slightly on the door before entering.
"A-yo yo yo yo. What time is it? Showtime!" A tall boy exclaims to two other people. One of them has curly hair tied in a high pony. He's very lanky, has light brown skin and a sugar-like eyes. The other is more bulkier and muscular. Still very tall and has slightly darker skin.
"Uh, hi. I'm Alexander" He awkwardly says.
"Hey! You must be my new room mate. I'm John. Nice to meet you. These are my friends Marquis de Lafayette and Hercules Mulligan"
The boy has noodle-like curly hair. Every freckle on his face was placed carefully like in a galaxy. You could get lost in his chocolate, hazel eyes.
"Bonjour, I will save you the trouble of trying to learn my whole name. Just call me Laf or Lafayette" He smiles
"Hello, you can call me Herc" the other one says.
"Nice meeting you guys. I'm going to unpack"
They nod in unison and continue talking.
"Woah, damn he's cute" John says unexpectedly. Lafayette nudges him in response.
"Oh shit, I wasn't meant to say that out loud"
"Haha yeah, sure. Me and Hercules gotta go. See you later! Have fun" Lafayette says and adds a wink at the end. John's slight blush upon his cheeks escalates into his face being completely red.
