I'm glad that you all enjoy the story! This is a music box version of SirHamnet and Lyrratic's Seasonal Feathers:

~Third Person POV~

Winter had at long-last passed and spring was eagerly arriving. Life began to flourish and the sun shone down gently, bathing the world in a warm cloak of gold. The air was still a little chilly and a soft breeze wove playfully between the branches of the flowering trees, causing some of the petals to drift to the ground; small scatterings of pink and white.

Inside the small home, a young man stretched as he awoke from his slumber. The slightly chilly air caused him to shiver as he got up. Putting on a white kimono with dark blue outlines, he headed into the main room to eat some food. While he was eating, the flowering trees caught his attention and he decided to go enjoy the sun. When he went outside, he was surprised to see Rin.

'What's Rin doing outside so early in the morning?' A soft lilting tune caught his ears and he realized that Rin was singing. A white dove was perched on her hand and seemed to be singing with her. With a smile, Len settled down on the porch and contently listened to Rin sing, her honeyed tones luring him into a peaceful state as he began to weave a basket with some straw.

Rin was clad in a rose colored kimono with black outlines and was wearing a white juban. Her blonde hair was pulled into a bun and Len smiled when he saw that Rin was wearing a red hair comb.

~Flashback~

"Len, welcome back." Rin greeted Len with a smile as he slid off his *geta and walked in.

"How was your trip?"

"Good. Um, here..." Rin's eyes widened as Len pulled out a simple red hair comb.

"I wanted to get something for you. I thought you might like something to pull your hair up." Although Rin's hair wasn't nearly as long as some of the other village girls, it constantly got into her face. She took the comb with trembling fingers and examined it, turning it delicately with her fingers.

"Y-You didn't have to trouble yourself with-" Len kissed Rin on the head, silencing her. His eyes widened when he saw tears trail down Rin's cheeks.

"I-If you don't like it, I could get you another one!" Rin hugged Len, stopping him from running out the door. With a watery smile, she looked up at him.

"I love it." With a small blush, she leaned up and placed a soft kiss on Len's lips, making blood rush to his cheeks. She pulled away with a soft smile and turned around. Understanding, Len took the comb from Rin, gently pulling her hair into a bun, and placing the comb into her hair, keeping it in place. She turned back around and touched the comb, tracing over it.

"Thank you."

~End Flashback~

Len was pulled from his thoughts when Rin stopped singing. He watched as the dove flew away, remembering the crane that flew away on that cold winter day.

'I hope that crane is okay.'

"Rin." Jolting, she turned around and looked at Len with wide eyes.

"When you sing, everything's so beautiful." Rin blushed, but smiled happily. She walked over to Len and sat down next to him. He stopped weaving and placed his head on her lap and they watched the flowering trees in silence as Rin played with Len's hair. Rin broke the silence with a question.

"If there's a day my voice has gone away; if I can't sing anymore, would you still be here with me; would you still love me as you did before?" Len was puzzled by the question but smiled and answered her question.

"But of course." He felt a wetness on his cheek and realized that Rin was crying.

"What's wrong?" Worrying, he placed a hand on her cheek, attempting to comfort her.

"Nothing." She leaned into his touch and closed her eyes, tears trailing down her cheeks as she whispered softly:

"I love you."

A/N: Done! How was it? I'm sorry if it's cheesy, but it will be explained later on why Rin's like that. If you want to find out, then you better stick around! Please comment, vote, and follow. It really makes me happy! See you next chapter!
