A/N: Actions scenes are really fun to write, but they can be so difficult! I hope this chapter's ok, haha... Which is kind of bad since this is where the action picks up in this novel.

"In a few moments, the first battle will begin. Will Michael Windsor and Chester Blue come backstage, please." Listening to the announcements, I took a seat at the student section, near the exit. The view wasn't too good here, but it was better than nothing. The competitors were allowed to watch the matches, though we must be ready five minutes before our own match.

I settled in, getting comfortable and perhaps a teeny bit excited to see the first match. This type of situation was something I could have only read in a fantasy novel. If only I had some popcorn.

"Hey, Camille. Are these seats taken?" I looked up to see the familiar couple. With an exasperated sigh, I motioned them to sit down. I guess these two are going to be my "gang" now, huh?

"Who's battling first?" Alice asked, flattening out her bright blue dress before sitting down. She looked stunning, especially with her light brown hair tied up. Alex did a double take at my outfit but sat down anyway.

"The Dark Prince and some guy called Chester," I said.

Alice frowned at that. "Don't call him that."

I looked at her, and asked curiously "Don't call him what?"

"Dark Prince. The name just sounds, well, how do I put this-" She struggled to find some nice ways to put it.

"Evil?" The brunette looked a little shocked and cast her eyes down. I smiled in return. "It's ok, I'm not calling him 'dark' because of his powers." The couple threw curious eyes towards my direction at that. "He's just too gloomy," I defended. And he was, with his lack of friends and ability to communicate. I didn't care about who Michael was, or even what he looked like. For me, it was the character of a person that mattered most, and Michael didn't exactly give me a good impression currently.

"Are you two friends? I mean, I heard about the kidnapping incident a month ago." Alice looked worried as if I was going to get angry at her. I sighed. Felicity couldn't keep her mouth shut.

"Nothing bad happened, Alice, I promise. And no, we're not friends. I did try, but the jerk didn't even give me a chance," I said bitterly.

"Camille, he's not a bad guy," Alice began, the first time she ever hinted a past between the two. Alex's gaze was now added with a bit of jealousy. I fidgeted around at the tension, squirming in my seat. Before things could get even more uncomfortable, the battle began with a ring of a bell. Relieved and thinking of an old saying, I devoted my entire attention to the two men walking to the stage.

Michael's expression was unreadable, though I can't say the same for his opponent. Chester had a disgusted expression on his face that sickened me to the stomach. Oh please, why is he even looking at Michael like he's a freak of nature? At least Michael has a nice face to look at.

Both men took positions opposite to each other in a wide circle. The rules were simple; the first to take a step out of the circle loses and is immediately disqualified. A moment of anticipation took over, leading to the ring of the bell. Michael held no hesitation and made the first move right away.

His steps weren't rushed, but he made it to his opponent in no time. His attacks started out physical, bringing up his leg towards Chester's face. Chester quickly shielded himself with his forearm and out of nowhere, his fists were covered with rock. Chester brought his fists towards Michael, who looked prepared for the attack. A black goo was summoned, and when it was met with Chester's fists, the rock was dispersed.
