A/N: Finally got an update out! I swear, I'm addicted to writing this story; I felt like I was going through withdrawal these past few days. Thank you so much for your comments, they really motivate me a lot! Still have no idea why you're reading this story, though...

I woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling. I sat up quickly, dread rising within me. I didn't reincarnate again, did I? I hadn't even done anything yet!

I took a look around. The bed was lined with a soft, smooth silk, looking fancier than the bed I had at home. The room was gigantic, even by an aristocrat standard. It was, however, surprisingly empty, and just as I was about to step out of the bed, the door opened.

The almighty Prince Michael walked in, a neutral look on his face. I smiled in relief. I didn't have time to check over him, before. It was great that he was fine. Michael, on the other hand, continued with his cold look.

"You're awake," he started. I gave a light nod.

"What happened?" I had blacked out as soon as we escaped. I have no idea how we managed to arrive safely back, considering that the only two humans who knew had to get home were unconscious.

Michael narrowed his eyes. "That's what I want to ask. How'd I get knocked out?" Ah, that reminded me.

I stood up quickly to the side of the bed, pointing my finger directly in his face. "You stupid idiot!" I yelled. His expression slipped in surprise, not expecting to get yelled at. "Why'd you sacrifice yourself? Do you not understand your death would be meaningless? Not only would you be dead, that elf would have risen up a monster, killing who knows how many people?" But truthfully, if he had died to try to save me, I would have never forgiven myself.

The prince was dazed for a while as if forgetting to speak. I guess it's not every day that someone yells at a prince, even if I was a noble. An awkward silence followed my words until his expression started to form into anger.

"Meaningless? How could you say that? This is your own life we are talking about!" He roared.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh please. We both know you don't actually give a crap about me. This is all about your hero complex! You are so eager to save everyone to prove your self-worth and to show that you aren't some evil being that you forget all reasoning" I retorted. He had the nerve to even yell at me back.

His eyes widened in anger, stepping closer and reached out to grab my arm. "You-", he shook his head as if deciding against his actions. "Nevermind. We have no time for this. The king wishes to see you."

What? The king? Are you telling me I'm in the castle right now? How did that even happen? As if seeing all the questions appearing on my face, Michael gave a sigh and said, "I woke up shortly after we escaped. The carriage had stopped for a quick break, most likely because the elf girl was lost."

His words reminded me of a certain little girl that I had nearly forgotten. She wasn't anywhere in the room. "The elf girl- where is she?" I don't know why, perhaps it's because I had practically changed her life, but I had already formed a strong attachment to the girl.

"Well, if you had let me finish, you wouldn't have had to ask that question." Boy, did I want to slap that smirk right off his obnoxious face. "Well, fortunately, the carriage wasn't locked, and I was able to escape. When I saw the little girl standing next to you, who was unconscious may I add,  I came up to the elf and knocked her out. She's quite weak for an elf."

My eyes darkened in anger. "Weak? Do you know who was it that saved us? It was her!" I shouted. That poor girl. After all that suffering, she is still seen as a criminal.

He chuckled mockingly. "An elf does not save humans. They are evil creatures with the intent of showing off their superiority. That's how we ended up in that mess anyways."
