A New Body

I opened my eyes to see a ceiling. My head pounding, I groaned and rolled over, hoping to get more sleep. I have to wake up early to- wait. I'm supposed to be dead. Shocked, I jolted up in the bed, feeling my body all in one piece, except for that excruciating headache that seemed like it was going to stay for a while. That's not possible, I had felt it, felt the moment when I touched the ground; I winced at the thought of the memory. Never taking that path again.

I looked around, noticing that this was not a hospital. Actually, it didn't look much like anything really. The room looked like a set from a medieval production with red curtains and wood furniture, and lack of anything remotely modern. I began to panic, was someone messing with me? But that couldn't be possible, I had died. Then is the after life? I mentally laughed at that, I never believed in souls, and here I was proven wrong. But, why would I be in pain then? Taking a deep breath, I got out of bed, and walked towards the nearest mirror. Never would i have expected the reflection that stared back at me.

Hesitantly, I touched my face. It was amazing smooth, with no signs of flaws that should have shown at the age the body was at. I had reincarnated -or is it transmigrated?- into a beautiful teenager. In my old body, I was a bit plain, but was a typical Asian with dark hair and eyes, with no notable characteristics. But this girl had it all; beautiful, luxuries blonde hair that could rival the fairy tales, and not to mention, amazing curves. What did she eat to be so skinny? When I was a teenager, I ate so much from stress that I was borderline obese.

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice anyone coming in my room until a metal plate clattered on the floor.

"Mi-Miss, you're awake," a young woman looked at me with wide, fearful eyes. She was wearing what looked to be a maid's outfit. I should say I was surprised, but I already had guessed this young lady was rich, and lived in the olden times, indicated by the lack of technology and the huge room I had slept in. What I didn't understand was why the maid looked so terrified to see me awake; shouldn't she be happy to see me alive?

Author's Note: Cry... Why are my chapters so short? I'm just going to dig a hole and bury myself in shame. I'll work on it I swear.
