 CHAPTER 14

I walked home that day. The sun was beginning to set, and the stars were slowly coming out. California's tempature is beginning to drop, and when I breathed, an icy fog would crack in the air. I didn't know what has gone through me today. My identity will be erased. Or at least, my fake identity. Now everyone is going to be all over me. Why must life turn against me? Is this some game of Chess and I'm the last piece standing to guard my king? I'm not the Knight. I'm not the Rook. I'm the Pawn. The lonely Pawn. I can only move up. No value, no special abilities. Nothing. The King is the greatest value because it is my true life. My true stardom. The fame, the fortune, the popularity. I'm now stuck with it!

The gates opened to my mansion and they closed behind me when I walked past them. Noah peeked his head out the window. My blonde, loose locks coiled around my shoulders and back like a snake. My piercing blue eyes filled with pain and insuflerable heartach.

Noah ran outside and his eyes narrowed. His, long, brown hair swiftly placed to the side, almost like any other boy who has the exact same hairstyle. His blue eyes glistening in the moonlight.

"What happened?" he asked, wrapping his arm around me.

"Bradon. He told." Noah seemed not to be surprised. He almost seemed to have expected it. Like he knew.

"I wouldn't trust, Bradon. He can be a talker sometimes," he says as he opened up the big large, Mahogany doors.

"Mom and Dad home?" I asked, trying to switch up the subject. Noah shook his head.

"Business trip." I sigh and rolled my eyes and flopped on the couch.

"God. It's just me and you again," I droned. Noah chuckled and asked our personal cheff to make us sushi.

"It's always us. We rely on each other." I made a snorting sound and chuckled.

"They are always lying to us. Telling the will be back this week then they say next week. DO they not want us, Noah? Do they think they can just throw us away?" I hissed. Noah shook his head and cracked his knuckles.

"They are very busy peope-"

"Do you think they love us?" It was a childish question. A stupid question. Why was is I'm asking my little brother? I should just face them myself.

"I'm going to call them," I state. Noah looked puzzled and shook his head frantically.

"No! No, no, no!" he exclaimed.

"Yes! Yes, yes, yes!" I yelled back. I shot up and ran to the phone.

"You know that you can't do that. They will get angry," he warned. I made a bitter laugh.

"Angry? I'm angry!" I screamed. "They have been 'effing with us for our whole entire life! Aren't you angry?" Noah didn't speak. Actually, he didn't move. His face stone and emotionless. Dark as night, eyes like fire. Anger seeping out of him as a form of a tear.

"Do it." I dialed on the phone and it began to ring.

Beeeeep Beeeeep Beeeeep

There was a subtle sound. It was quiet.

"Did they anser?" Noah question anxiously.

"I don't know? Wait."

All of a sudden there was a voice.

"Hi, this is Carol, leave a message after the beep."
