Chapter 4

Ethan's P.O.V.

I open Avery's room and see that she is awake this time.Last night when I got here she was still sleeping and the nurse said it was because of her medications so I went back home and decided to return this morning.
'Hi E.'She says and I say her hi back,I give her a cup of hot chocolate which I grabbed on my way here.

'How are you feeling?'

'I'm actually really good,I've to see the doc in half an hour or so.'She responds and drinks the hot chocolate.

'So you won't be here anymore?'I ask her happily.

'Hopefully,but I don't know where to stay.'She says.

'You have your own house Ave.'I laugh,then add.'But if you want you can stay with us.'

'I have my own house?'She asks
surprised,her eyes are wide open and she is smiling widely.

'Hell yeah!'

'Crap that's so cool,but I need to keep myself and the house,what about job?Do I have one?Or what about friends and family?'I don't want to tell her about her family and especially her violent dad,I think if she never remembers those things what she once told me it will be so much better.

'Woho wait up,you worked in a local library,I think you're still welcome there,do you want me to grab some of your nice clothes from your house,so you'll be wearing something nice when you come our from this shithole?'I try to avoid talking about her other questions and change the subject.

'Yeah sure.'She mutters and stands up from her bed.

'You know..I was going to ask you this yesterday but I didn't do it,I'm curious though..When I woke up from coma the nurse told me I jumped from the top of a really high building..'Avery starts talking and I remai silent meanwhile,I knew she would bring this up but never thought of what to answer-that clear thruth or the overcasted lie.

Sadly,I decide to go with the lie , because I don't want to tell her why she did that,that it was because of my asshole self and I almost killed her.I swear ro god this is the one thing I'll never be able to forget or forgive to myself.

'You know it was kind of an accident..'I say quietly and try to avoid her gaze,I hate myself for doing this.

'You..you didn't really jump..'I add.

'Oh.'

'So,I didn't jump?Then what happened?'Her curiosity again..

'I don't know Ave,I wasn't there.'I nervously laugh and try to change subject. Again.

''Okay.'She calmly answers and throws the empty paper cup in the bin.

'I'll be going now Ave,I'll be back soon.'I kiss her on the cheek and rush out from the room,afraid that she will ask me more questions and I will have to lie her.

Avery's P.O.V.
Ethan kisses me quickly and rushes out from my room.I take my phone and text him.I think when the accident happened I didn't have my phone with me,otherwise it would be broken right now.I might have left it somewhere.

To Ethan:
'You rushed out so quicly haha,u okay right?'

From Ethan:
'Yeah sorry😁❤️'

To Ethan:
'Do you have my house keys?How are you getting in?'

From Ethan:
''Course I have,u gave it once to me😂'

To Ethan:
'Gimme a pic before you bring me those clothes ;)'

From Ethan:
'Yeah okay.What's with the wink anyway?'
