Chapter 8

Avery's P.O.V.

I am woken up by a bang sound,but when I open my eyes I only see half naked Ethan,by half naked I mean shirtless and in his underwear,he is sitting on the floor.
'Sorry I didn't mean to wake you up.'He says and rubs his knee.
'It's okay.'I smile and open my eyes widely.
I stood up and got dressed,then went in the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.After that Ethan and I,both went to kitchen to eat something but there was literally nothing.
'We should go and get groceries.'
'Yup I agree.'I chuckled and we went out and got in his car.
'I don't like the way you are looking today E,what's wrong?'I asked him when I saw his dull face,it was clear he was thinking about some real serious things.
'It's nothing..really.'He muttered,I decide to let it go by now but I will bring this up other time.He parks the car outside supermarket and we both get out of the car.
'You go get the vegetables.'I tell Ethan,and I go to grab some cereal,milk,grilled cheese and some parts of a newly roasted chicken,then we meet each other and after paying for products we leave the supermarket.
Our day is still boring when we get home,we just eat our breakfast in silence and enjoy it.
I think this is a perfect time to bring up that subject I was talking about.
'Ethan you're not telling me something.'I directly started because didn't want to make a huge deal of it.
'Why do you think so?'He asks me curiously.
'I don't know why but I can say how,you have that thoughtful look on your face I can tell.'I explain it to him.
'I wasn't sure I was going to tell you but this won't be a problem for you.'He starts,I already don't like the start.
'Tell me what.'I demand.
'The reason my parents are visiting us is not that they want to see how their kids are doing,but something else,well the previous reason is of course too but the main reason is that recently my dad has been diagnosed with cancer and we're not sure how much he has left.'He says and my heart drops,I can tell by his expression that he is very worried about his dad.
I go up to him and wrap my hands around his neck,he hugs me and puts his head in my neck,oh how I love this feeling.
'I told you already but still you have to remember that everything will be all right.'I assure and kiss his lips gently.
'I love you.'He whispers in my ear.
'I love you more.'I say and know that he will not stop after this.
'Bull crap babe,I love you more than anyone has ever loved in their lives.'He smiles and I'm happy to see his bright face.
'No I love you the most.'I insist.
'Avery lets stop with this,you know you can't win because I love you with all the possible and impossible powers that has ever existed.'He winks and I hit his arm playfully.
'Fine.'But I still love you more I say in my heart and smile at him.
'What should we do now?We are such losers we have nothing to do.'I laugh.
'I don't know really,name a place babe and we can go there.'Ethan suggests.
'The thing is that I have no idea what to do.'I exhale.
Just as I'm about to say something y phone rings and I answer it.

'Hello?'
'Avery,darling,is that you?'
'Violet..I mean mother..yes.'
'Honey I was wondering if you could meet me tomorrow,at any place you'd like.'She asks me.
'Yeah,of course,I'll text you tomorrow.'
'Bye.'

I hung up,Ethan looks at me curiously.

'It was my mom.'
'What did she say?'
'She asked me to meet her tomorrow,didn't say the reason.'I respond.
'Oh..okay..'
'Avery?'
'Yes?'
'If she asks you to forgive her everything will you?'Ethan asks me with his brows furrowed.
'I don't know,she hasn't asked me anything yet but I think I already kind of did?'I say in a questioning tone.
'But why?'His question is a little bit rude to be honest.
'What do you mean why?He is my mother.'I say if it wasn't the most obvious thing.
'You don't even exactly know that..'He chuckles.
'Ethan I don't know you what problem do you have with it?Ever since I mentioned my mom you always get like this!'I raise my voice.
'How do I get?'His expression is unreadable.
'I don't exactly have the word to explain it but you know..you're like..not on my side..'I say confused,I really don't know what to call it but tell me it isn't obvious that Ethan always reacts thus coldly whenever I bring my mom's subject up.
'Avery I just don't want you to get hurt and I'm trying to protect you.'Ethan explains but I still say no word.
'Trust me if she really is your mother than you'll be happy right?And if you are happy then I am happy too,but if you get hurt I get hurt too.'
'Okay.'I quietly say.
'I'd be very happy to meet her actually.'He suddenly says.
'You are kidding right?'I laugh.
'Why should I be?I mean you already met my parents so why can I meet yours?'
'Because I just met my mom too.'I say and laugh at how weird it sounds.
'So what?It doesn't matter,does it?Lets meet her together tomorrow.'He suggests and I have no other option but to agree so I nod in agreement.
I swear his mood swings are going to get me out of my mind,one minute his is this strict and serious and another minute there he is smiling like a dumbass.
'Hey I know where we should go.'Ethan says in excitement,I give him a curious look.
'Where?'
'Remember when I took you to the river once?That's where we're going,I haven't been there in a while.'
'Yeah it really is a time to swim in the river.'I sarcastically say.
'Neither was it then but we still did remember?'He smiles.
'Yeah..I always do crazy shit when I'm with you.'I laugh.
'Don't blame me if you're crazy.'He makes a funny face.
'Yeah yeah whatever go grab your swimsuit Dolan.'
