Michaela P.O.V.

It's been 3 months since my dad died. Alot has happened. Of course I'm currently living with my mom but my grandmother comes down once a month to make sure I'm  okay.

School started back last month and I'm attending the same school as Krissy. She is a cheerleader but she let's me sit with her and her posse. It's Thursday and I'm in my last class of the day Calculus II. I found out coming to this school that im far more advance then your average student. This is my last year at the school though next year I will be going to a boarding school in Cali for the gifted.

"Mya... Mya... Michaela!!" My teacher got my out of my daydreaming.

"Yes ma'am. Please pay attention. The final bell rung and school is over." Mrs. Mason said.

"Sorry." I said I gathered my things to leave. I didn't mention I'm a daydreamer now. I have so much that stays on my mind since my world has been upside down. I get plenty of notes sent home but all I do is stack them up. My mom is not as attentive to me as she is to Krissy when it comes to school. Mostly because I'm gifted she always assumes I'm bored whenever I get a note sent home.

Which I am but it's not all the time. Sometimes I just don't want to think about school.

"Is everything okay at home?" She asked. That's another thing I have to continue to lied about who I am. Everyone thinks Krissy is my cousin who treats me like a sister and my mom is my aunt. But since my dad died I really don't care anymore about every mentioning she is my mom. Who wants their mom to be someone who lies about who their child really is.

"Everything is fine at home Mrs. Mason." I told her. I put on my backpack then left out quickly. I went to my locker and got out anything I needed to take home.

I then went to the waiting car outside that was taking me home. Krissy left after lunch her and mom are going to Chicago later for for an interview with Oprah. Of course I'm staying home, my auntie Pat is coming over to get me later. Then I'm going to Cali for the weekend to see my brothers and sister.

I got home and my saw a note on the fridge from my mom to call her when I get home so I did.

Me: hello

Mommy: Hey baby, you home?

Me:.yes ma'am

Mommy:Good

Krissy:Hey Mya-pooh!!

Me: (laughing) Hi Krissy

Mommy: How was school Mya?

Me: it was fine

Mommy: Okay well I love you. Call me for anything and we will see you as soon as we get back.

Me: Yes Ma'am. Love you too.

Mommy: Alright baby don't leave the house and call me when auntie Pat comes she should he on her way.

Me: Yes Ma'am.

Mommy: talk to.you later baby.

Me:Later mommy.

I hung up the phone with my mom and went to get a snack then make sure my clothes were packed in my bags for the weekend. By then I heard the downstairs alarm go off and my auntie Pat called my name.

"I'm in my room Auntie Pat." She came upstairs.

"Hey baby." I went over and side hugged her.

"Hey Auntie Pat I'm almost ready. I just have to get the rest of my school stuff." I told her.

"And how is school going?" She asked.

"Uh fine." I answered.

"Just fine uh." She asked. I could feel her looking at me.

"Yes ma'am." I said with my back still turned.

"Okay then this stuff ready?" She asked pointing to my suitcase.

"Yes ma'am." I answered. She got my suitcase and left the room. Soon enough I was with my backpack. So I got downstairs and locked the door behind me and went to Auntie Pat's waiting car.

"Well she just getting in the car mama. I will.have her call you later." She said. Then hung up the phone.

"Door locked?" She asked as she back up out the driveway.

"Yes ma'am." We took off driving and once we got on the interstate Auntie Pat started talking.

"You said school was fine right?" She asked.

"Yes ma'am." I lied.

"So Mrs. Mason is lying when she said you are distracted and that she sends home a letter every two days." She asked.

"She wasn't." I said.

"So what going on?" She asked. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Uh Uh. Don't do that, where is the last note?" She asked.

"In my backpack." I told her.

"Well when we get to my house give it to me." She told me.

"Okay." I said we rode the last 15 minutes in silence.
