"There you are," Mikayla says as I walk in. She's sitting on the bed with the TV on.

"How was the beach?" I ask her, plopping down on the other bed.

"I've got sand in everything," she complains. "I've taken three showers already and I'm still finding sand in my hair!"

"Then stay far away from my bed," I joke.

"So where have you been?" She asks me.

"Well, I got stuck in a dark elevator with a hot guy for an hour," I tell her.

"That's why one of the elevators is out of service!" She says.

I explain to her everything about the elevator, but I don't tell her it was Tyler that I was stuck with. She's one of my best friends, but I just feel like this is one thing I should keep a secret. If I tell her, she'll ask me to introduce her to him, but I'm not sure I would want to.

"So you got yourself a boyfriend, huh?" She teases me.

I roll my eyes. "He barely knows me! We're only friends," I insist.

Mikayla raises an eyebrow. "For now," she jokes.

"I wish," I mumble to myself.

"What?" She asks.

"I said I'm craving some fish," I quickly lie.

Mikayla rolls her eyes. "You must be really sick."

My phone buzzes, so I turn it on and read the notification across the top of the screen. I got a text.

"Heyyyyy bestie #2!!!"

I guess it's Tyler who sent the text, and I smile. He called me one of his besties!

"Is it your new boyfriend?" Mikayla asks curiously.

"Yes- I mean no," I quickly correct myself. "It's him, but he's not my boyfriend!"

"Is he asking for nudes?" Mikayla continues to tease me.

My cheeks turn bright red. "No!" I say loudly.

"Ooh, you're embarrassed! He is, isn't he?" She smiles at me mischievously.

"I swear he's not," I say, laughing. "He just said hey."

"Okay, I believe you, but I don't trust him," she jokes. "When you go to the movie on Friday, I better meet him."

"He's, uh..." I try to quickly think of an excuse. "He's really shy."

Mikayla looks at me, concerned. "Are you sure you're okay? You've been acting really strange, even for you."

"I'm fine! Just tired," I say.

Why am I so worried about her finding out I've been talking to Tyler Joseph? She's one of my best friends; this is one of the things I should be dying to tell her!

"Okay," Mikayla says, unsure. "Just remember that you can tell me anything."

"I know," I say, "and I really appreciate it!"

Mikayla finally gives up on trying to find out what I'm hiding. She pulls out her phone, the screen lighting up her face.

I finally respond to Tyler's text.

"Is that your new name for me"

"Ya, do you like it?"

"Only if I get to call you bestie #2 too"
