"So," I say, "You never ate that pizza slice we saved for you."

Tyler shrugs. "I'm not really hungry anymore. You can have it.if you want."

"I've probably had too much already if I'm to be honest," I joke. The room feels oddly silent with only the two of us. The only noise is the shower running.

"Your friends seem pretty cool," Tyler comments to break the silence.

I smile. "They are. I guess that's one reason I like them. Their coolness makes me seem less boring."

"(Y/N), you aren't boring," Tyler sighs.

"I'm pretty sure I know how boring I am better than anyone." I roll my eyes.

"I'm serious," he insists, "I've only known you for a day, but I really enjoy talking to you!" I don't respond and we sit in another awkward silence.

I pick at a loose thread on my shirt. "Do you want to watch TV or something?" I ask.

"Yeah, sure." Tyler grabs the remote and turns the TV on. "Here, you choose what to watch," he says as he hands me the remote. I take it from him and flip through the channels until one of my favorite shows comes on.

I rest myhead on Tyler's shoulder and my eye lids begin to feel heavier the more we watch. It must be really late by now, but I don't say anything since I'm not quite ready to have Tyler leave.

I blink my eyes, but this time they stay closed. I slowly fall asleep with my face against the soft fabric of Tyler's shirt.

The next morning, I'm suddenly awoken by the someone on the TV yelling. I sit up, my heart pounding.

"Sorry," Mikayla apologizes, "I wasn't expecting it to be so loud." She pauses the show playing.

I rub my eyes, still a little out of it after my sudden awakening. I look down and see that I'm under the covers. I'm not sure when that happened last night. The last thing I remember is closing my eyes to let them rest for a little while.

"Um, was Tyler still here after you got out of the shower?" I ask.

Mikayla shakes her head. "When I came out you were fast asleep and Tyler already left."

I blush, realizing that Tyler must have tucked me in while I was asleep. He's just too sweet and kind that it makes my heart seem to triple in size. "So what time is it?" I ask.

"It's..." she pauses to look at her phone, "...about eleven."

"It's weird being up so early," I joke.

She shrugs. "I've been up since seven." Mikayla is probably the only morning person I know. She's always up doing something while I'm still laying in bed.

"After being your friend for years, I still don't understand how you do it." I shake my head.

"I just think about things to get me going, like how we're going to miss the free breakfast if we don't get down there soon," Mikayla says tossing me some clean clothes to change into.

After taking a quick shower and getting dressed, Mikayla and I go down to meet Kylie and Jordyn.

The four of us grab some food and sit down together. We are all talking when Tyler walks in. When he notices me, he waves and I wave back. When he is done getting his own food, he pulls a chair up to our table and sits next to me. "Hey guys," Tyler says.

"Hey!" I say before taking a bite of my waffle.

"Sorry that I keep showing up uninvited," Tyler grins.

"You're the lead singer of one of my favorite bands; you showing up is one of the most amazing things to ever happen," Jordyn says.

Tyler blushes. "I'm not that great," he says shyly.

Jordyn doesn't stop herself from talking. "Not that great? You're band is internationally famous!"

"I didn't mean my music, but me as a person," Tyler explains. "I'm pretty boring. I just happened to get lucky enough to have my music get noticed."

I roll my eyes. "Why is it that you get to call yourself boring, but I can't?"

Tyler looks at me. "Because you aren't," Tyler insists.

When Kylie, Jordyn, and Mikayla finish their breakfast, they all head back up to the hotel room, leaving me alone with Tyler. It makes me think back to last night.

"So what time did you leave last night?" I ask him.

He thinks for a second. "Not long after you fell asleep," he answers, shrugging. He doesn't mention tucking me in. Maybe Jordyn or Kylie came back and did it.

"You know," Tyler says, pointing hid fork at me, "I could have looked at your lockscreen while you were asleep, but I didn't."

"Wow, you did as I asked and respected my privacy," I say, rolling my eyes.

"So, do you and your friends have any plans for tonight?" Tyler asks.

I shake my head. "Besides laying around and watching TV, I'm completely free."

"Well, I've got to meet up with an old friend of mine, but would you want to go to the beach afterwards since you weren't able to go yesterday?" Tyler asks, looking at me hopefully.

"Sure! It sounds like fun!" I smile to myself. This would be my second night in a row with Tyler! This vacation keeps getting better and better.

"I saw it in a movie once, so how about we have a picnic under the stars?" Tyler asks dramatically.

"What cliché teen romance movies are you watching?" I tease him.

"They're not cliché! The plots are completely original with strong characters," Tyler says defensively.

I laugh at him. "Fine, let's do it."

"Great!" Tyler smiles. "I'll meet you here at seven."

A/N:

The waffle didn't magically turn into a pancake like it does in my other fanfiction! Yay! I did something right for once!
