After finishing our breakfasts, Tyler and I go our separate ways. He goes out to see his friend while I go back to my hotel room.
The time for me to meet Tyler quickly approaches, but I begin to have some doubts.
"Would you call this a date?" I ask Mikayla. I already told her and my other friends my plans for tonight.
"It's a romantic beach picnic! How is it not a date?" Mikayla looks up from the laptop she has sitting on her lap.
"It's know it sounds like a date, but what if Tyler thinks of it as us going as just friends?"
"Well, how did he ask?" Mikayla questions me.
"He said he saw it in a movie," I tell her.
"And then what?" She asks.
"I then asked him what kind of teen romance movies he had been watching," I recall.
"Did he deny it being like a romance movie?"
"No, but he didn't agree either," I inform her.
Mikayla shuts her laptop. "If he was just asking as a friend, I'm pretty sure he would let you know when you mentioned romance."
I nervously pick at a feather sticking out of the couch cushion. "What if he felt too bad to tell me that we're just friends? Maybe he didn't realize what I was saying or-"
Mikayla interrupts me. "(Y/N), take a deep breath and calm down," she commands. "You're going to go to the beach and have a fun time, whether or not it's a date, okay?"
I nod my head. "I'll try," I assure her.
I turn to the mirror and check my outfit once again. I'm wearing some light jean shorts and a nice black shirt, but underneath it all, I'm wearing the new bikini I got just before leaving for vacation.
Taking a deep breath, I begin to walk to the door. "Let's hope I don't completely ruin everything," I say to Mikayla before stepping out into the hallway.
I go down to the lobby and sit on one of the couches. Only seconds after I sit down, Tyler gets out the other elevator. He smiles when he sees me.
"Are you ready to go?" Tyler aks, walking up to me.
I shrug. "I just sat down, but yeah." Tyler offers me a hand to help me up. I accept it and grab onto it. Once I'm standing, Tyler guides me out to the parking lot.
"No trycicle?" I ask as we walk up to what must be Tyler's car since he pulls out his keys and unlocks it.
"They didn't have any for me to rent," Tyler says sarcastically.
I raise an eyebrow. "So this car is a rental?"
"Yep," Tyler says, opening his door and hopping in. I do the same in the opposite side. "I wasn't going to drive my own car all the way here! I'm too lazy for that."
Tyler exits the parking lot. We talk as he drives, but none of our conversations are that meaningful or important. We then get to the beach and Tyler parks the car and we both get out. The drive was a lot longer than I was expecting and the sun is already starting to set.
Tyler opens the trunk of the car and pulls out a blanket, two towels, and a bag of Taco Bell.
"Taco Bell two days in a row?" I ask.
He shrugs. "It's the only close restaurant that I know."
I smile and follow him out onto the sand of the beach. He sets out the blanket and I help him straighten it out. Tyler puts the food and towels down onto it. "Should we go to the water before we eat?" He asks me.
"Sure!" I answer. I kick off my sandles and take off the clothes covering my bikini and Tyler pulls his shirt off over his head.
I catch myself staring and begin to blush. Sure, I have plenty of pictures of him shirtless on my phone and I've seen him without a short at some of his shows, but it's a lot different when I'm this close.
"Race me to the water?" Tyler takes off his own shoes.
"I'm going to lose, but why not?"
Tyler and I sprint to the water. I try desperately to run through the sand and to the water before Tyler, but he just barely wins.
I put one toe into the ocean waves and quickly pull it out. "Maybe coming to the beach when it's dark wasn't the best idea; the water is freezing!"
"It's not that bad," Tyler says, standing ankle deep in the water.
"Yeah it is," I say, jumping back as a wave comes up on my foot.
"Come on," Tyler says. "It's nice!" I shake my head. Tyler puts his hands on his hips. "Are you going to make me drag you in?"
"You can try, but I'm not getting any closer to that water!"
Tyler walks towards me and scoops me up in his arms and holds me like a baby. I squeal as he holds me over the water. "Don't you dare drop me!"
"I won't be able to hold you up much longer," Tyler grunts. He walks deeper into the ocean. Now, I'm only centimeters above the cold ocean water.
I put my arms around his neck. "Tyler, if you drop me, I will-" Before I can finish my threat, Tyler lets go of me and I fall into the salty water.
I come out of the water, completely wet and shivering. "Tyler!" I shout.
He looks down at me, laughing. I get my revenge by splashing the water up at him. Within seconds, he returns the splash, causing us to go into a splashing war.
We both eventually stop, giggling like a bunch of toddlers.
