Chapter Six

Clara's POV

It had been exactly a week since I last heard from Audrey.

Since our date, I've tried to call her and message her but I have yet to get a reply from her.

Either she was still at Dranthoven or she had come home ages ago and was just ignoring me. I really hoped it was the former,

"Audrey can handle herself Clara, stop worrying."

I looked up at Devin, "If that's the case then why hasn't she contacted me?"

She sat down on the chair in front of me and tilted her head slightly, "Is Audrey your mate?"

I looked at her shocked, "I-I don't know. I'm a dragon Dev, do I even have a mate?"

She shrugged, "I believe everyone has a mate out their somewhere. As supernaturals we have the privilege of being able to tell who our mate actually is. How do you feel around her?"

A smile appeared on my face as I thought about Audrey and how she made me feel, "Like I'm on cloud nine. She's funny, smart and downright sexy."

She chuckled, "Well, you could just have really strong feelings for her. I don't know if your mates or not, I wouldn't be able to tell you. You felt the same way for Medina at one point remember?"

I nodded. She was right. Medina was most probably my first love. She did make me feel how Audrey does but what I have with Audrey is different. It feels stronger,

"I feel more strongly for Audrey than I did for Medina. It's just different. I can't explain it."

She placed her hand over mine, "Don't think about it too much okay? We have to go to Dranthoven now anyway. Who knows, Audrey might be there. If she's not, after tonight we can raid every place until we find her if that's what you want to do."

I laughed, "We'll see."

She smiled and stood up from her chair, "Come on. We have to go otherwise we're going to be late."

I hummed in agreement and followed behind her out of the office.

It took us about an hour or so to reach Vichering Castle. From where our office was located, it was quite a distance away from Dranthoven.

Devin and I didn't really know much about why we were here. We just knew that all of the Kings and Queens would be here tonight.

I was nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because I was a dragon who didn't want to be revealed and excited because I would most probably get to meet the Remington's.

They hadn't ruled the wolf kingdom together for long but they were an inspiration to me.

After what happened with them and the Vichering's a few years back, I'm surprised they're even here tonight. That just goes to show how forgiving they are.

"I hope Tatum and Sasha Wolfram will be here tonight." Devin spoke excitedly. I smiled over at her, amused by the excitement that she wasn't afraid to show.

Devin seriously looks up to Tatum and Sasha. She's like their number one fan.

Tatum was the first female general to be appointed to the mage kingdom. Her and her wife Sasha then went on to being the first and most probably the only mages to be personal guards to the Remington's.

It caused uproar at first but Corinne and Calliria Remington really didn't care what anyone else thought of them,

"I'm sure they will be. They're the Queen's personal guards."
