As soon as I opened my eyes, I noticed someone leaning beside my bed. I also felt a hand tightly holding mine in a reassuring gesture, something that proved to me the other person didn't want to let me go. I saw Jason leaning beside me, whispering the phrase, "please wake up", waiting for me to wake up.
With all the strength I could have, I tightened my grip on his hand, but it was a vague try because I didn't have much strength in my body. He looked up at me, and smiled while tears were streaming down his face.
"Jason?" I asked.
He was happy that I recognized him. He stood up and hugged me the tightest I could remember. While he held me, he kissed the side of my head and said,
"I knew you would wake up! I knew you would come back to me!"
"How long was I out for?" I asked.
"A week."
"A week? What happened? Where's my mom?"
"They're all here waiting outside for you. I'll go call them." He said. He released me from the hug, and was about to open the door, when I called him back.
"Wait, Jason?"
He turned around. "Yeah?"
"B-Before you go, can you kiss me first?"
He smiled and happily made his way back to my bed. "Sure."
He held both my cheeks in his hands, while he leaned closer and kissed me. I kissed him back about two seconds later, and then he pulled back and rested his forehead against mine.
"I really missed you." He whispered.
"Good, 'cause I missed you too." I whispered back.
He kissed my forehead once, before walking to the door and calling everybody outside. In just a matter of seconds, there were squeaks from sneakers, the sounds of chairs pulling back, and the rustling of feet as they made their way to the door. My mom ran in first to the room. She made no stopping as the got to the bed and hugged me, tighter than Jason had done. As I was looking over her shoulder, a young woman walked in, followed by two teenage girls and two teenage boys, and an old lady. Jason walked over to the side of my bed, and sat down in the left side, and sat down in the bed with me. His right arm was placed over the side of the pillow where I lay back down after my mom released me from the hug.
"My darling, I missed you! I am so glad you woke up! How do you feel? Does it hurt anywhere?" My mom asked worriedly.
"Mom, I'm fine." I reassured her.
"I'll go notify Dr. Jacobs that she's awake." Amber said. She walked towards the door and walked out.
"Who's Dr. Jacobs?" I asked.
"The doctor who took care of you the night you came to the hospital." My mom said.
"What happened that night?" I asked.
"You don't remember?" Amelia asked.
"I sort of do, but the memories are kind of... fuzzy." I said.
"We will talk about that later, I promise." Jason said.
Suddenly, a man who looked around his late forties, walked inside my room. He was wearing a lab-coat, on top of a light blue vertical-striped button-up shirt and black slacks and wore black dress shoes on his feet. His hair was black but had little "rays of sunlight" also known as gray hair. His face showed the age he had, because it was mildly wrinkled around his eyes and forehead. From what I could see, he wasn't wearing a wedding band, so he's either divorced or never been married.
