The next morning, I was awakened at six in the morning, because I had school. I was happy to find that I wasn't alone in my bed this morning, because secretly last night, Jason sneaked inside my bed. I turned around so that I was facing him. I noticed something long hanging in my neck.
With my index finger and thumb, I picked it up and had the dog tag near my eyes to see it better. The silver dog tag had Jason's name engraved in it and the date he graduated. June 2nd, 2011. Just last summer. Why did he give me his necklace from graduation?
Because I had school today, I knew that I had to get up to go take a shower. So, I gently shook his shoulder trying to get him to wake up. Since that wasn't working, I tried the next best thing. I had my face near his ear, and whispered,
"Jason, wake up."
He groaned, but didn't move. I tried once again.
"Jason, baby, wake up."
This time, he didn't just groan but I at least got a minimum move of his body, because he moved his hand in search for mine. Once he found it, he intertwined our fingers together, and brought them near his chest. How much I wanted to forget about school just for today and go back to bed for the rest of the day. After all, Jason said he was leaving tomorrow after school, because he wanted to make sure I was good to re-start school after missing a week. But I knew I couldn't miss anymore days of school.
"Jason, please, I have to go take a shower." I whispered once more while smiling at his stubbornness. It was clear he had no intentions of letting me go. And I would've gladly stayed.
"Jason, please. I know you want me to stay, and I want to stay, but we both know I can't." I said. He sighed and let my hand go. I leaned near him, and kissed his cheek, and stood up to my closet to pick out a pair of skinny blue jeans and a pink and turquoise button-up shirt and a white tank-top and grabbed a pair of underwear and a bra, before going to the bathroom attached to my bedroom to take a shower.
Once I was out of my shower, I got dressed in my undergarments and then slipped on the jeans that I had brought. Then, I put my white tank-top and slipped my arms inside the button-up shirt. I buttoned the shirt up to the button just above my breasts, and tried to roll up my sleeves up to my elbows. One both sleeves were up to my elbows, I walked over to the sink and brushed my teeth. Then, I put on my face powder and applied some blush to my cheeks. Then, I brushed my hair and braided my side-bang and held it to one side with a bobby-pin. Once done, I put some clear lipgloss across my lips and then walked out of my bathroom.
Jason was sitting in my bed waiting for me to come out. Once he heard the bathroom door open, he looked in my direction and smiled as he saw me come in. He got up from my bed and walked towards me.
"Hey." I said.
"Hi." He said. He leaned in and kissed my cheek. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you. Jason, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Did you give me this necklace?" I asked him, while picking up the dog tag with my index finger and thumb.
"I did."
"Why did you give me your graduation necklace?"
"Well, that necklace gave me good luck, and I wanted you to be able to wake up so I gave you my lucky charm."
"But, now that I'm awake, do you want it back? I could--" I said while trying to take off the necklace, but his hands stopped me.
"No, I want you to have it."
"Are you sure? I mean, it's your lucky charm and reminder of graduation. Are you positive that you want me to keep it?"
He smiled and leaned in and kissed my lips once. "Wouldn't have it any other way."
