The day after Jason left to go back home, I awoke earlier than on any normal summer day. But that was because this was not a regular summer day; today, I was going on a family trip to sunny Los Angeles! The only reason why I woke up, was because of my mom opening my bedroom door, turning on my light on the ceiling, and turning off the AC.

I stirred in my bed, and looked around my room until my eyes adjusted to the light. Once my eyes had adjusted to the brightness, I looked over to my clock on the bedside table. It read: 6:07 A.M. Way too early to wake up on summer. With a deep sigh, I got out of bed and walked over to my bathroom.

I removed my clothes and then put my hair up into a bun, and walked inside the shower. I turned the water on and washed my body. Once done, I dried myself and walked over to my closet, where I opened the doors and pulled out underwear and a bra from my top drawer. Then, I walked to the other side of my closet, and pulled out a pair of skinny jeans, a pink and turquoise checkered button-up shirt from Abercrombie & Fitch, and my black converse. I walked once more to my drawers where I pulled out a pair of socks, and put them on my feet. After getting the socks on, I slipped on the converse shoes and tied the laces together.

I walked to my bathroom, and brushed my teeth, put a light coat of make-up, and brushed my straight hair. Once my hair was done, I put my toothbrush in a special case, and put it with my toothpaste on a small make-up baggie. The baggie went inside a bigger bag where my make-up was and my hair accessories went. I put the baggie inside the black bag I was taking for the trip, and I also threw inside my hairbrush and my hair iron. Then, I sprayed perfume on myself, before throwing the bottle inside the bag as well. I also disconnected my iPhone from the charger, and the charger from the wall to be able to put it inside the bag.

Once all that was done, I zipped up the bag, and put it outside my bedroom door. I walked downstairs for breakfast, and saw my brother already on the kitchen table eating 'Fruity Pebbles' cereal. His favorite. María smiled at me and asked,

"What would you like for breakfast?"

"Same as yesterday, please." I told her.

She nodded, and then walked around the kitchen to look for the whole-wheat bread and butter for my breakfast. I sat down in the table next to my brother, as I waited for my breakfast.

"How are you doing this morning, sister?" Michael asked me.

"I'm fine, Michael." I said.

"Are you sad because your boyfriend left yesterday?"

I looked at him with a serious expression, but then shrugged and nodded.

"You have nothing to worry about, you'll have so much fun with us at L.A. that you will forget about him."

"I could never."

"Okay not forget him, but just not thing 24/7 about him while we're there. I mean, this is Los Angeles, California!"

"So you are definitely excited."

"Very much!"

"What are you so excited to see?"

"The Michael Jackson statue at Madame Tusseauds!"

"...Besides seeing your idol in a wax figure."

"Oh... Then I guess it would have to be Richard's house in Malibu."

"It does sound interesting." I nodded. María gave me my breakfast in a small plate, and a glass of water with ice floating. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." María said.
