3 Days to Fall in Love

11- Nico

I turned over in bed, my eyes fluttering open.  It was night, but a light was shining under the door. I heard a thud on the door. What?  I groggily sat up and trudged to the door, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.   I swung it open, but I was met with pitch darkness.  I looked down. Nothing. Up? Nope.  I was about to close the door again when something caught my eye.  Only one person would've done that.  An arrow was stuck to the door, pinning a note to it.  I pulled the arrow out, rolling my eyes.  The note fluttered to the ground and I bent to pick it up.  The words "Death Boy"  were scrawled on the top.  I took it inside and turned on the light with a clap.  Then I unfolded it.  A.. poem? My eyebrows scrunched up as I read the words.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue

Hey Death Boy

I like you

My heart fluttered.  He.. liked me? Really?  That was.. pretty incredible, I mean, nobody I've ever liked has liked me back.  I grinned widely, just the thought of him shot butterflies into my stomach and my heartbeat sped up by a million times.  Then I frowned.  What if..? No way.  That couldn't be right... he must've made a mistake.  I pinned it up onto the cork board that hung over my desk and scribbled my own note.  Then I rolled it up, pulled a small skeleton cat from the earth, and tied it around its neck.  The kitten purred, climbing up my arm as I told it where to go, and then it jumped off my shoulder and sauntered out the door.
