You woke up yet again to your usual alarm. Slamming the palm of your hand down on the side table multiple times before actually managing to find your phone and turn the alarm off, you groaned and stretched up towards your roof. The daily grind never got easier, especially since every day brought you closer to the colder seasons now.
It was six thirty in the morning, that means you have to get up and shower before you go meet up with Kankri. The worst dilemma in the world is deciding if you want to go shower now or sleep in for a little longer.
You planned to meet up with Kankri again yesterday when you saw him in one of your classes. The easiest way to talk to him is through Pesterchum, so you added him, asking him to meet you at the library. It seemed to be your go to get away place so you have privacy, though it is still a public area.
You had found yourself beginning to fall back asleep before your alarm blasted again and reminded you there was no snoozing. You sighed and dragged your body that seemed so heavy for some odd reason out of your bed, discarding your blankets and flinging them somewhere.
You really didn't want to get up today, but Kankri was worth it.
Luckily the shower was warm, warmer than the bed. You didn't want to get out of the warmth but you had to eventually. Hot water bills would kill you one day. Roxy walked into the room luckily after you had got dressed and looked you up and down.
You had a dress on, which wasn't really something you wore considering you only really had them for big fancy occasions. Roxy raised her left eyebrow, especially when she noticed the converse you were wearing with them.
"Where are you going?" She sat on the edge of your unmade bed and watched as you walked towards the full body mirror on the outside of the left door of your wardrobe. "It must be something important if you're wearing that."
"Oh just... Somewhere," you laughed.
"Are you going on a date with that cute Kankri boy?"
"It's not a date," you spun around to face Roxy. "We're just hanging out."
"If you were just hanging out you wouldn't be wearing that!" You shook your head and smiled down at your feet. It was too hard to lie to Roxy, she knew you too well.
"I mean, I hope it is a date? I don't know if it is, he didn't call it a date but I really like him and I want to impress him so I pulled this out and decided it was time I wear it."
The dress was nothing extravagant, just a yellow sundress. Converse actually went well with it. You couldn't help but tug at the bottom however, it was a little shorter than you'd like it to be. Roxy nodded and smiled.
"I can tell you like him," she got up and walked over to you. "And I'm pretty convinced he likes you too, you don't need to doll up just to impress him y'know?"
"Mm I know, I just... I really like him."
"Well, if you do really like him you can't be late!" Roxy pulled you in for a quick side hug before she nudged you towards the door, giggling as she watched you pick up speed and rush out of the dorm. She really was a great friend to have around.
Your plan was to meet Kankri at the library and then the two of you would walk to his place. He wanted you to meet his friends, it turns out they all lived there together, not for any particular reason but to make the bills cheaper and because they enjoyed each other's company. It was apparently very rare to catch them all there together like they were today.
You finally reached the library where you were supposed to meet Kankri and luckily right on time. He was leaning against a pillar, his hands in his jeans pockets. He looked down at his wrist watch and then back up just in time to meet your eyes as you made your way up the library stairs.
