For reasons you were unsure of, today felt like a good day. You woke up later than usual and you were definitely eternally greatful for the extra sleep. Today was the last day that you had final exams. You only had to tackle two today. It wasn't just that, you had also studied hard for those tests already. Today was an easy day, or at least you felt it would be.
The morning went fast with you and Roxy spending some time together. You binged some TV series you'd never heard of before and made mochas with too much whipped cream on them. You still laugh thinking back on the moustache of cream that Roxy used for her impression of your history teacher.
Your first class today and your first exam started with you seated behind Kankri at the front of the class. The test was extremely boring, but you knew all you needed to get through it. Time flowed by pretty slowly when you were finished with the test early and tapping your pen against your desk but eventually time seemed to speed up and you were out of the class.
You spotted Kankri approaching you while you sat in one of the lounge chairs in your campus 'relaxation room,' you have no idea why it's really there but hey you have to appreciate it. It's always the best spot to hang after tests.
"Hell9 (Y/N)," Kankri smiled and sunk into the bean bag beside you, carefully placing his backpack down beside him.
You smiled in response before looking back down at your phone. Before he got here you had been Instagram stalking a dog's Instagram page. Kankri twiddled his thumbs, he appeared to be blushing slightly under the neck of his turtleneck that he had began to bury his head into, it seems like it's a habit of his. He avoided your eye contact for a moment while he collected his thoughts.
"May I speak with y9u, s9mewhere... p-private."
The relaxation room wasn't exactly crowded which made you suspicious, but none the less you followed along after shoving your phone into your jeans pocket. You walked on for a while through the campus gardens, just admiring the nature.
A beautiful Willow tree with large long roots and branches that swirled like scrolls, covered in spots of rich green moss still wet from dew was in the centre of the garden. A wooden bench underneath the tree was shaded from the sun by the beautiful branches and boundless leaves, it was extremely beautiful, and your inner romantic screamed in joy.
Huge sunflowers created a wall around this particular part of the garden. It was the most private place in all of the campus, no one could see anything here unless they came in through the secret entrance at the back of the area, which Kankri had just shown you.
Speaking of Kankri, he approached the bench and dropped his bag down beside him, sitting with his hands in his lap and twiddling with his thumbs while he motioned for you to come and sit beside him.
"S9, there is s9mething y9u d9n't kn9w a69ut tr9lls."
Your interest peaked as you sat down beside him. You thought you'd learnt everything there is to be learnt. He'd taught you about quadrants sure but never in the detail he was about to. He took a deep breath and began to explain the nitty gritty of everything. And by everything, I mean everything.
He stopped after explaining how trolls become flushed much like how humans get crushes. Roxy had the most horrible timing in the world. You sighed and apologised to Kankri, who definitely had more to say as your phone began to buzz loudly and your obnoxious ringtone that you had set for Roxy began to interrupt your silence.
"Hey Roxy."
"Heeeeeeeey there (Y/N), ummmm we are having a p *hic* aaaarty at our dorms and someone broooke a table *hic*"
You sighed again and got up from the bench you were sitting on. Roxy had been working on her drinking problems since she entered college, but we all go back to old habits at times and it seems like right now Roxy had too much on her mind and she allowed herself to be swayed.
"I'm really sorry Kankri, but I have to go," you bit your lip a little, disappointed that you wouldn't be able to hear the rest of what Kanrki had to say. "But hey, please call me at some point so we can finish this conversation. It looks like you have something really important to say."
Kankri nodded calmly and got up when you did, slinking the straps of his backpack onto his shoulders. A soft red blush still coated his cheeks. He walked in one direction while you walked in the other, it felt like something straight out of a romantic comedy. You waved to him and he waved back before you both disappeared out of each others sights.

When you made it back to your dorm room, everyone who was at the party had already left. Roxy stood near the broken table, attempting to fix it.You laughed as she tried to superglue the leg of the table to the top of the table rather than the stump where the leg had been before.
"Roxy, don't worry about the table. Let's get you some water, maybe something to eat."
You walked Roxy over to the kitchen after prying the table out of her hands. She sat herself up on a part of the counter as you grabbed her a glass of water and began to make her a grilled cheese sandwich. You took the empty martini glass out of Roxy's hand and replaced it with the glass of water, making sure she didn't spill it completely.
"Yoooou know your troll frienddd *hic* heee toooootally likeeees you."
You laughed as you took the grilled cheese sandwhich out of the sandwhich grill. The cheese was dripping out and making a mess on the plate. The sight of the food made Roxy drool.
"Roxy, you need to sober up," you handed her the plate and tried to pry the now empty glass of water out of her hands. "And we need to talk about this later, please?"
Roxy nodded and pouted. She was about to spill her emotions to you but something in her head must have told her not to, so instead she hummed and started stuffing the much appreciated food into her mouth. You couldn't help but laugh.
"What were youuu and the troll guy talking about?"
"Something important," you leant against the counter beside Roxy and crossed your arms, staring guiltily down at the ground. You still felt bad for leaving but by the looks of the state of the dorm, you had no choice. "But hey, you needed me here so..."
"I'm sorry," Roxy pouted again. You looked up at her, she genuinely looked upset.
"No need to be, I'm here if you ever need me Roxy, don't forget that."
