Raine

"You good?" Jen asked as we walked into the restaurant.

"Yeah," I nodded & looked around. It was cute & cosy with a cool vibe & it had an old style pub in the centre.

"There he is!" Jen squealed as she made eye contact with this guy who I assumed was Adam. He was a hunk. & he had a friend.

"Did you set this up?" I whispered as we approached the two boys. Oh excuse me. I mean sexy men.

"Who knows," she whispered with a giggle & smiled at Adam.

"Hey beautiful," Adam greeted her & wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Hey you," she greeted him & went in for a kiss which basically lasted for two minutes. During those two minutes I made friendly eye contact with the gentleman next to Adam. Probably his friend.

"Oh um, Adam, this is my best friend-"

"Raine Peterson. I follow you on Instagram & have seen some of your photoshoots. I'm actually partners with Youth Alive," he explained.

"Oh the photoshoot I did recently. Thank you for the opportunity it's nice to meet you," I smiled & took out my hand.

"This isn't a business meeting Raine," he chuckled & hugged me. I could feel Jen's eyes wonder. Jenevieve was the jealous type.

"Raine this is my mate Jasper," he introduced me to the blonde dipped brunette chiseled hunk with the green eyes & the jawline that could slice through ten year beef jerky.

"Hi," I smiled & greeted him.

"Hey," he greeted back & went in for a hug, "you look beautiful tonight," he whispered in my ear & I won't lie, I felt something tingle.

"Thanks. You ain't so bad yourself," I smiled & he smiled back. We all sat down at our table & ordered what we wanted, as Jen & Adam were flirting & getting hot & heavy, Jasper & I struck up a conversation.

"So what do you do?" I asked him.

"I work with Adam. We're assistant stock brokers & also planning to start our own business," he explained, his pearly white teeth practically screaming at me.

"Oh wow that's so interesting," I nodded, trying to pay as much attention to this guy as I could because damnit he was worth it.

"You?" he asked, slowly reaching for my hands on my table.

"I'm taking a gap year. I'm only nineteen," I explained.

"I'm twenty two," he smirked.

Yes. An older man. The Lord has blessed me today.

"Nice," I giggled. We spent the rest of the night chatting away & joking around.

He made me forget my problems. My current situation. I know it was definitely too early to move on from Aidan but damn, this guy was a freaking catch.

"Hey guys, Adam & I are gonna walk a couple blocks to get these croissants that I've been begging him to try," she gripped his bicep tightly & kissed his shoulder. I was happy for Jenevieve. She hasn't been this crazy about a guy in a long time.

"Yeah Jenevieve just won't leave them alone so I wanna see what the hype's about," Adam chuckled.

"Yes. We'll be back in a few minutes. We've paid our half of the bill already," she said & with that her & Adam were gone.

"Um," Jasper began as he made eye contact with me, "would you like a drink?"

"Yeah," I smiled & reached for my wallet.

"I meant buy you a drink," he chuckled & held my hand that was motioning for my wallet.

"Oh wow really?" I asked, quite bewildered.

"Yeah. Anything for a beauty like you," he winked & that caused me to blush. He got up & strode to the pub.

I was alone. I seemed safe. I felt safe. Especially with Jasper. He worked out. You could tell. But it wasn't the suffocating type of muscular, just the type that is pretty attractive.

I saw a figure approaching my table & was confused at first. They were covered in a hoodie & had their head down. They stopped in front of table & slid onto the chair. They took off their hood to reveal themselves & I felt like fainting.

"Aidan. What the hell are you doing here?" I asked with fury.

"To apologise & take you back," he begged & held my hands.

"Aidan no. You're crazy," I shook my head & tried to let go of his grip but he had me in tight.

"Raine I'm not. I'm better. See. See," his voice growled as he flashed a big smile.

"Aidan no," I tried to wriggle out but it was no use.

"Raine please," he pleaded.

"Hey Raine who's this?" Jasper asked as he came back with our drinks.

"He was just leaving," I finally got out of his grip.

"No Raine," he grabbed my wrists & practically pinned me down to the table. Jasper then set down the drinks & went close to Aidan.

"Hey buddy you shouldn't be touching her like that," he touched his hands on my wrist.

"I'm sorry bro but you're not involved. You don't know Raine like I do," Aidan flicked his hands off.

"C'mon dude lay off," Jasper then grabbed his hands & set them on the table.

"Don't touch me," Aidan stood up & shoved Jasper, which started a riot. They started trying to go at each other as I tried to break it up.

As they were getting more physical, Jen & Adam walked in & saw the commotion. Jen ran towards Aidan & basically jumped on him, yanking on his hair. Officials then came & escorted us out of the restaurant.

As we got outside, Aidan disappeared & Jen yelled,

"Yeah stay away you fucking twat!" she yelled. She was fumed.

"Are you okay baby?" Adam asked Jen as he wrapped his arms around her.

"I'm fine thanks," she looked down & exhaled.

"What about you? Are you okay? I'm so sorry. He's this guy who won't leave me alone & it's kinda frustrating," tears began to run down my face.

"No it's okay. I'm okay. Are you okay?" he took off his jacket & put it on my shoulders as he wiped away my tears.

"I'm okay. Thank you. I'm really sorry," I looked up at him.

"Look Raine I had a great time don't even worry," he held my chin & smiled at me, which made me feel warm.

"I should probably take her home. She's still shook," Jen walked over to me & put her arm on my shoulder.

"We understand. I'll see you later this week?" Adam asked.

"Yes," she looked up at him as he kissed her.

"Do you want your jacket back?" I asked.

"No," Jasper said, "keep it. Maybe I'll come over to your place & pick it up," he smirked.

"Alright," I blushed & he gave me a kiss on the cheek.

As we waited for Jen & Adam to finish their goodbyes, we shared a nice long hug.

"See you guys," she smiled & we got into her car.

What a damn night.
