Raine
"I still think he's kinda weird," Jen looked over me as I did my makeup in the mirror.
"C'mon dude. I'm just helping him out," I shrugged & continued blending, "plus he's cute. Let's give him a chance & see."
"Hey. Lemme not say anything," she shrugged & got her car keys. We headed downstairs & got into the car as she drove me to the peer.
"What do you think is wrong with him?" I asked as I stared at her drive.
"There's just something. I can't quite put my finger on it but it's bugging me," she sighed & pulled up to the peer.
"Well. I'll prove to you that he's good," I smiled & got out. Jen walked me to the edge of the peer where I saw Aidan sitting on the bench.
"Aidan," I called out & he turned around with the brightest smile on his face.
"Raine," he smiled & hugged me tightly as he elevated me off the ground & set me down again.
"Jen," he smiled & did the same.
"Hey," she smiled back uneasily.
"This is for you," he gave me a single bloodshot rose, "I thought getting you three dozen was much. Plus one signifies you are the only one tonight," he winked, causing me to blush. He was symbolic, I liked that.
"Thank you so much Aidan," I smiled.
"Okay kids, here are tonight's rules. No running away to a different city. No kissing. No sex. No taking her back to your place. Have her back by ten thirty," Jen laid down the rules, causing both Aidan & I to burst in laughter.
"I mean it," she pointed a finger at me & started walking, "but you two have fun!" she yelled & got in her car, making her getaway.
"She's really a character," Aidan chuckled.
"Yeah. Been like that since we were four years old," I shook my head.
"Cute. Hey, do you wanna go to the restaurant just a short walk from here? They have good food that you'll love," he gushed.
"Yeah. Definitely," I smiled.
"Great. Um, this may be a stupid question but can I-I hold your hand?" he asked with a red face. I smiled as I cradled my fingers in his hands & began our walk down to the restaurant.
"You didn't have to ask y'know," I smiled as we kept walking, "you should've just went for it."
"Well. I didn't wanna mess up like I always do so," he looked down.
"No. Don't say that. I bet you slay everything you do," I giggled & he did too which made me very happy.
We got to the restaurant & sat down at a table as Aidan handed me my menu. We ordered our food & stared at each other. A bit of an awkward but neutral stare.
"So tell me about yourself," I smiled as I paid full attention to him.
"Well, I'm originally from Idaho. I'm nineteen & a college student. I also model & do photography on the side," he smiled & placed his hands on the table.
"Oh wow interesting. No wonder your Instagram feed is so aesthetic," I gushed.
"Thank you. I try I really do," he smiled & shifted his hands closer to mine, "also, my lips are real. Just if you were wondering," he chuckled & I laughed.
"I knew they were. They look fantastic I have to say," I nodded with a smile.
"Yours too. I hope I get to feel them later," he smirked & I blushed deeply. He had a sense of bad to him. I liked that.
"Aidan," I flattered him.
"You don't need to tell me about you because I already know everything there is to know," he batted his eyelashes.
"Oh really now?" I asked as I placed my hands under my chin & stared at him in aw.
"Yeah. You're Raine Brittany Peterson. Originally from Chicago but moved to here to Los Angeles when you were three. You were bullied in elementary school, which seems so stupid because you're so amazing, You were second in your graduating class & you're nineteen. You're taking a year off to find yourself & you really want to become a model or writer in the future. Your favourite food is chicken pot pie & your favourite colour is Violet. You have an older sister that you don't see much & you can't sleep without opening your windows just three inches from the windowpane," he nodded with a smile.
I was shocked. He knew basic fan things but he knew some things that I didn't really talk about or tell anyone. Maybe Jen was right.
Our food came & I stared down at it."Oh wow," I chuckled.
"Yeah. Sorry if it's weird. It's just, you're such a beautiful muse. It's impossible not to study your habits & what makes you so gracefully elegant," he whispered & honestly he sent chills down my spine. He really had a way with words.
We indulged our meals as we spent the night talking & admiring each other.
Aidan was a sweetheart with a quirk. I really appreciated that. It was nice of him to ask me out on a date like this. I was having fun.
We took a walk down the peer as we looked up at the stars & held hands. Counting the amount of stars seen in the sky.
"They're a lot of stars in the sky tonight," I said soundly.
"But those are nothing compared to the stars in your eyes," he whispered as he looked at me. I blushed deeply & looked down. His fingers gently cradled under my chin & lifted my head.
"I know this is like so stupid but Raine, can I kiss you? Just once," he whispered as his blue eyes made contact with my eyes.
"You don't have to ask. Just go for it," I whispered the last part as his lips softly made contact with mine & I indulged him under the glowing moonlight.
A night well spent.
