And you end up crying

You were there at the corner as usual, alone and with your head down. I sighed as my smile dropped and I turned to my friends.

"Wait lang ha," I said. "Puntahan ko lang si Daniel."

Like always, as soon as I said your name, Dylan rolled his eyes while Reina simply nodded.

Dahan dahan akong naglakad papalapit sayo at pinilit kong gumuhit ang isang napakalaking ngiti sa aking labi.

"Hi Daniel!" I happily sat down beside you. Tumingala ka at nagbuntong hininga bago ako lingunin. "What's your problem this time?"

"I dont have a problem." Umirap ka pa. Ha! Sungit.

"Ulol," I rolled my eyes. "Hindi mo ko maloloko."

Binalik mo ang tingin mo sakin. "Hindi pala kita maloloko edi alam mo na dapat." Ngumiti ka ng pang-asar.

I felt my heart skip a beat. I immediately looked away.

Eto na naman tayo, Kathryn. Eto na naman. Tigil na diba?

"Hayy," humarap ako muli sayo. "Akala ko ba over ka na?"

Yumuko ka at ngumuso. "Akala ko rin ehh..." Bulong mo. 

You looked so sad... if only I wasn't your best friend, I would have actually believed you were. 

"You jerk!" I shoved your shoulder and you burst into laughter.

"Okay, okay." You put your hands up in the air as if you were surrendering. I rolled my eyes once again. Pagkatapos mo tumawa ay huminga ka muna ng malalim bago hawakan ang siko ko. "How many times have we had this conversation? How many times have I told you that Im over her?"

Napalingon ako sa kamay mo na nanatiling nakahawak sa siko ko. You drew patters on it using your thumb. I sighed before I looked at you again.

I smiled. "And how many times have you lied to me?"

Bumagsak ang kamay mo at bumagsak rin ang ngiti ko pero agad ko iyon binalik bago mo pa man makita. 

""You are unbelievable." You shook your head. "I can't really hide anything from you, can I?"

"Nope." I teased. Popping the letter p at the end. "What can I say, I know you like the back of my hand."

"Then you'd also know that I don't wanna talk about it."

"Daniel..."

"No, Kathryn." You snapped. Napaawang ang bibig ko at ganun rin ikaw. Pumikit ka ng mariin bago ako tignan muli. "Im sorry."

I managed to fake a smile. I reached for your hand and gave it a squeeze. 

"It's gonna be okay. Babalik yun. She's not yet over you either, Im sure." I assured you.
