Chloe's POV
I literally hid out in the nursery for the next like 4 hours until heard a knock on the door
"Please don't" I spoke as loudly as I could manage although my voice stayed at a whisper and I knew it
The door was opened
"I'm sorry" he spoke nervously
"No, I am, I...." I went to try and explain but was interrupted by the front door opening, was it really lunch already?
I quickly left to avoid further conversation and then went down to see Thomas but he seemed to be in quite a rush
"You, me, Archie, lunch out?" He asked me and I couldn't help smiling, he was including Archie, he really was making an effort, it felt really nice
Ryan's POV
After what happened this morning I called Thomas, I figured he should know what happened with her getting all shaky and how he should probably have a go at doing some family stuff for her sake
He does seem to care, he's just not doing a great job of showing it
I obviously skipped the part about how we nearly kissed, I feel so bad, she was vulnerable, I shouldn't have leaned in, I shouldn't like her, I just....I can't help it, there's just something about her that I can't help loving
So soon they left and it was so awkward, I know she doesn't like me, she's in love with Thomas, she's married to him, they have a kid together, she was vulnerable and confused, that's all it was
Chloe's POV
We went out to the park and had burgers and fries, it was really nice, I swear Thomas hasn't done something like this since we were dating
"I wish we did this more" I blurted out accidentally, supposed to just keep that in my head
"When I get back we'll do it again" he promises but I lost faith in his promises a while ago
"Chlo, I have to tell you something" he tells me carefully as we finished eating, I actually give up
"Let me guess you're doing something I'm not gonna like" I speak harshly
"They want me to fly out tonight" he tells me and I sigh
"Whatever" I reply while avoiding eye contact
"I won't go if you don't want me to" he says but it sounds so insincere
"Just go" I tell him with a sigh
"I love you" he tells me but that doesn't sound heartfelt at all, it's just words to him I swear
"Mhmm" I reply
I get up and make sure Archie's ready to go, I'm not staying any longer
"Where you going?" He asks me confused
"Home" I reply as I walk off with the pushchair
He runs after me but I'm just so done with him, Archie deserve better than this, dear god I DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS!
"Chlo!" He calls out as he catches up with me
"I've had enough of this Thomas! I'm done just going along with whatever the fuck you decide to do and just trying to deal with 'my place', it's been like this for years! WHY DID YOU EVEN MARRY ME IF YOU DONT GIVE A SHIT?!" I scream at him, he looks dazed by that, I don't think he'd even thought about how this stuff makes me feel
I sigh and quickly leave him there while he's still in shock by my outburst
I hurry back so he can't catch me and the second I'm inside I just slide down against the wall and I'm in tears
I can't take this anymore
