Chapter 15

Ryan's POV

"I....I should just g...go" Chloe hurriedly mumbles as she goes to make a run for it, she must've gotten the wrong end of the stick

That's not a girl, well it is, but I'm definitely not sleeping with her

"It's just Hannah" I told her, her gaze came back to mine and she settled down again, but she was still shaking I could see it

"I'm sorry" she apologised yet again

"Come in, you must be freezing" I point out as I usher her inside and shut the door

"I am" she replied quietly

Then Hannah came running over to see what was going on

"Ry who's that?" She asked curiously

"This is Chloe, my.....friend" I told her, I don't wanna confuse her, she's just a kid

"She's all wet" Hannah pointed out as if we didn't already know, she's adorable my little sister

"I know, Hannah, can you go get some towels from the cupboard for me?" I ask her and she nods hurriedly before running off to get them for me

"We need to get you out of those wet clothes" I pointed out and she nodded

Then suddenly it was like a lightbulb went off in her head and suddenly she was digging around in the bag she had with her for Archie

Then she produced a pair of leggings and a t-shirt

"Just in case he has a little bit of a mishap, I packed these spare a while back" she explained, still in a hushed tone

"There's a bathroom just down the hall if you want to go change in there when Hannah comes back with the towels, I can drive you back home if you like..." the second I suggest her going back home she cuts me off

"I don't wanna go back" she tells me decidedly

"You can stay here tonight, but Chloe you'll have to go back eventually" I tell her but that seems to get her more panicked

Just then Hannah runs back over to us with a huge pile of towels

"I didn't know how many so I just got a lot" she told me and I have to hold back a chuckle, she always makes me laugh, I'm so lucky to be her big brother

I take two of the towels from Hannah and give them to Chloe

"You remember where it is?" I ask and she nods "go get changed then and we'll talk when you're dry and warmed up

"Archie...." she suddenly realises

"I've got him, just get out of those clothes before you catch a chill" I tell her and she nods with a small smile before leaving the room, I take Archie and the bag into the living room with Hannah following behind me, still with like three towels in her arms, I don't know how she managed to get that many, she's only 7, they take up about as much space as she does

"Why's she here so late?" Hannah questioned as we sat down, she clearly hadn't registered Archie was here yet

"Something happened at her house and she needed to go somewhere else so she came here" I explain as loosely as I can without risking more questions

Archie started to get louder so I got him out of his carrier and removed the blankets that were still wet, she'd wrapped him up well so he still had some blankets that were dry

"Oh my gosh! It's a baby!" Hannah exclaims as she sets eyes on Archie

"That is correct Han, he is a baby" I reply a little sarcastically, not in a mean way though, she rolls her eyes at me with a smirk, god she's 7 and I'm already being sassed, RIP me

Just then Chloe comes out in the leggings and t-shirt but still seems to be shivering

"I'm gonna go put these in the dryer okay? You warm yourself up, there's blankets here somewhere" I tell her as I look around trying to find them

"Right there" Hannah points to the pile of blankets on the floor, we were gonna build a fort

"Thanks" she replies, she grabs a couple of blankets, wraps them around herself and then takes Archie before sitting down awkwardly, very much so aware that Hannah was staring at her and Archie

I quickly take all the wet clothes and blankets and towels to the dryer and once they're on I head back and find them exactly how I left them and I could see Chloe was getting really uncomfortable

"Is he okay?" I asked gently, she looked up at me and nodded

"Yeah, he's fine, nice and toasty, aren't you sweetie?" She cooed as he giggled adorably, you can see he has the same dimples as his mother

"What's his name?" Hannah asked inquisitively

"Archie" Chloe replied slightly timidly, she seemed to be afraid of my 7 year old sister, why I can't figure out though

"He's really cute" Hannah told Chloe while being unable to take her eyes off him

"Oh look at that its past your bedtime kiddo" I point out, it's a Saturday, that doesn't really matter but Chloe and I need to talk alone

She put up a little bit of a fight but ended up conceding pretty quickly so I took her to her room to tuck her in

The main problem with having written this whole book in advance is that I have to fight the extreme desire to just post the whole book in one go 😂😂 xoxo
