Touchdown

Chapter IX

Anthony was the first person and the only person I saw when I entered the spanish classroom. "Hey Anthony. I need to talk to you real quick. Is that ok?"

Anthony's eyes widened a little. "Sure, what do you need Ambrie?" "Well you see, this one person asked me to the dance and Sammie and I are trying to find out who it was."

Anthony gave me a confused look. "I am already going with A couple of my friends. I would never ask a girl to the dance." I looked at him suspiciously but decided to trust what he said. "Sorry Anthony. I was just wondering." Anthony walked back into the classroom as the bell rang.

"Any luck with Anthony?" Sammie asked. "No sadly. What about Luke?" Sammie shook her head. "He said he was going to the dance with a few friends including Anthony, Justin, Gabriel, and George. I let out a sigh of frustration. "Who could it be? It should not be that hard to find out something like this!"

Sammie shook her head in disappointment. "I know I know. There is only a couple of guys who are not dating or know you." Just then Nolan came barreling towards us. "Sammie! Ambrie! I have BIG news!" We turned towards Nolan anxious to hear. "Tell us! we are pretty much bored out of our minds."
Nolan was out of breath by the time he stopped running. "I might...have found...who asked you to...the dance Ambrie.
But...He told me...not to tell...his name."

"God damnit! I am straining my brain to find out who the heck this person is and I am running out of ideas!" Sammie tried calming me by rubbing me on the back. I brushed her away and walked home alone.

Axel came a little after I left. "Sammie, did she find out yet?" Sammie shook her head. "She still has no idea that you were the one that asked her to the dance. She thinks that It was either Anthony or Luke." Axel smiled. "Did you tell her yet Nolan?"

"Well, I did tell her I found out who it was..." Axel glared at Nolan in frustration. Then Nolan continued, "BUT I did not tell her that you were the one. Actually, She just stormed off towards her house before you came." Nolan pointed in the direction Ambrie walked in.

"I thought she lived over by you Sammie? You live in the complete opposite direction." Sammie sighed. "She moved. Her mom could not pay the bills so they had to move to a smaller house that would be affordable." Axel looked back at the direction Ambrie walked in. "Well I guess we should get home before we get caught still on School grounds."

"Ok. See you tomorrow Axel." Sammie and Nolan walked in one direction and Axel walked in the other direction.

On Saturday, Ambrie and Sammie went to pick out Halloween costumes. "So Ambrie, What do you want to dress up as for Halloween?" I shrugged my shoulders and tried to think of an idea. "Well I might want to go as Foxy from Five Nights At Freddy's."

Sammie rolled her eyes. "Why not try picking something from a video game? Maybe a Roman Goddess or an Artic Princess or something?" I thought about it for a little. "I might be a Huntress or a rockstar." That got a smile out of Sammie easily. "I know the perfect place!"

Sammie led me to Party City and took me to the Halloween section. She picked out a huntress outfit which had a dark blue cape with a light blue dress and a quiver and bow. Sammie also picked out some net gloves with purple face paint and a black dress and black lace up high heel boots.

Sammie and I went to her house and she made me try on both outfits. She said whatever one I go with, she will go with the other costume. I tried on the Rockstar outfit but it was a bit too uncomfterble for me. Then I tried on the huntress outfit.

Sammie picked out some gold fake contacts and put on black eye shadow for me. "The huntress fits you way better than the rockstar did." I laughed. "I think you would be better as the rockstar. You definately have the right hair color and the correct figure for it."

We hung out for a bit longer and watched "Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl" and "Doctor Strange". I walked home around 7:00 and ordered a pizza for dinner. Around 10:00 I got a call from my mom. She seemed like she was in a busy place.

"Hey sweetie. I might not be home tonight. I am staying at a Mrs. Dorians house for the night." Her words were slurred together so I knew she must have been drunk at a club or bar. "ok mom. be safe." Mom hung up and I called Sammie to see if she wanted to stay the night since my mom was not home.

Sammie luckily agreed to come over and spend the night. She put her things up in my room real quick and came back downstairs. "Wanna watch House M.D or something?" We stayed up till about 4:00 in the morning watching every episode of House M.D that we could find.

We fell asleep on the couch and woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. Axel was the one calling me. "How did he manage to get my number?" I answered my phone and heard Nolans voice in the background. "Um, hey Ambrie. I was wondering if..um..you wanted to hang out today."

I slightly smiled and took a minute to respond. "Sure why not?" "Great! So I will pick you up around Noon? Sammie is welcome to come. I can invite Nolan." I smiled even bigger. "Sure. I will see you at noon." After I hung up the phone, I heard Sammie say "Who was that on the phone?"

I jumped a little but then told her about hanging out. Sammie squealed and we both went to get dressed.
