~(y/n)'s Point Of View
I woke up in my chamber the Pharaoh had given me. I thought I had fallen asleep in his arms. Was it just a dream? I got up and walked into the garden. The sun was still rising. I reached the hedge and looked around to make sure no one was watching me. I closed my eyes and walked through the hedge. When I was on the other side I opened my eyes. I was all still there. It wasn't a dream. I sat under a tree by the stream. Looking at the water made me miss so many things. I missed (g/n) and (b/n)'s humor. I missed Yugi's sweet smile he wore every time he saw me. I miss the quarrels Kieba and Ayou would have in secert. I missed weekend plans. I missed boring classes. But most of all, I missed working after school four days a week at Yami's grandfather's game shop. I missed Yami the most. Somehow being here drew me closer to him. I heard rustling in the hedge to see Atem emerge from it. "There you are. I was looking for you." He said sitting beside me. I took his hand and held it. He was what kept me sane here. "There is holiday a tomarrow that my people celebrate and my advisors have arranged a ball here. I would like it better if you came." He said staring at the water. I nodded my head and forced a smile. He smiled as he kissed my forehead and we both left and went our seperate ways. After the doors of my chamber closed I cried. I could no longer bare the though of his expression when the time comes. I knew my fate was sealed. It had to happen in order for time to carry on.
~Time Skip~
This night would be one I wish I could forget. I wish everyone would forget what will happen. I was dressed in white silk gown. It had gold lining and a blue sash around the waist of it. I walked from my chamber and saw the crowd of people dancing and talking and enjoying themselves. I felt nothing not even an urge to join their delight. I knew what had to be done. I made sure Atem noticed me before walking out into the garden agian but this time not going through the hedge. I had to be able to listen or else everything would be ruined. Atem walked after me. "You look beautiful tonight." He said walking over to me and holding my hands lightly. Perfect. "Thank you,". I stared into his eyes listening intently. I heard it. An arrow pulled from its quiver. A few more seconds, and it was placed it the bow careful not to make noise. 1...2...3. I ripped my hands from his grasp and pushed him aside and he fell to the ground. It hit me. I gasped for breath and fell backwards. Red stained the silk of my dress where the arrow had struck me. My heart. Atem ran to my side and grabbed my hand. Tears were streaming from his eyes. He kept repeating stay with me. A guest shreiked in horror as they saw me bleed. People scattered and ran. Gaurds came to the Pharaoh's side. "Hes in the trees." One of them shouted. Another pulled the arrow from my chest. I felt lights fade and voices grow weaker. I whispered one thing to Atem. Protect your people. I closed my eyes and everything was dark.
~Atem's Point Of View~
Protect my people. The last thing she said. Her last breath left her and her hand went limp, the heat from it fading. It was hard to see anything. Tears had blurred my vision. Why her? She protected me so I could protect others. And if that's her last dying wish, I will do just that.
