Ch. 2 - The Outside World

This is it. February 16th. The day I will take my first steps outside to the new world that's waiting for me. I hope my parents will stay with me forever inside my heart from the start to end. My mother told me this when I was little:

"If you are afraid, the evil will come and ruin you. If you are confident, the good will make you a star."

While I was packing my bags, I found a picture of me and my parents. I kissed it and gently put it in my suitcase. I also wore my mother's good luck necklace that my father gave to her for their 1 year anniversary. I looked outside the half-broken window. I saw a bright future waiting outside for me.

After I finished packing my bags, I went to the kitchen and cooked ramyun. While I was eating, I went online to browse on my dream school's website. JUNG SANG UNIVERSITY OF ARTS. The school looked so beautiful. My mom and dad would be so proud of me if I were to go to this school. However, I suddenly realized that I would have to audition to make it into that school. Do I even have the talent? Is this the end for me already?..

I ran to my room crying my heart out. I wanted to be in my parent's arms. Why did I have to make this promise to myself when I was little? I knew my parents were with me inside my heart...but they weren't here next to me physically. This was going to be a difficult journey for me. -sigh-. However, this was just the beginning...
