Ch. 13 - Is This Fate?

Chanyeol POV

*PHONE TEXT RING*

As I woke up from the loud noise from my phone, I saw a letter placed on the table and read it. It was from Seo Young.

Dear Chanyeol,
thank you for everything lately. You've been always there for me and I absolutely thank you for that. I know you love me, but I'm sorry for not being able to love you back. I tried to love you. But the feeling...it's just not right. I don't want to hurt you even more. Please understand Chanyeol-ah.

Seo Young.

I started to dash outside the coffee shop, finding where Seo Young was. When I reached the park near the school, I found Seo Young with another person, Se Hun.

As much as I wanted to steal Seo Young away from Se Hun, I couldn't. I'll just be noticed as the bad guy in the end.

All I could do is just stand there and look at their passionate kiss. I silently left the park, without saying a word.

Seo Young POV

As the long kiss went to an end, I looked up at Se Hun. I wanted to scold him for hurting me, but all he did was smile at me.

It started to rain all of a sudden, so he took off his coat and put it above our heads and ran to a place with shelter.

"Sehun." I mumbled.

"Is there anything you need?"

"Promise me that you'll stay with me...that you won't leave me...that you won't hurt me."

He chuckled. "I promise."

"I know we went through a lot together. But, for some reason, all those times I hated you, I couldn't. If I was hurt, all I could think of is you."

"...What are you trying to say, Seo Young?"

Just then, I kissed him on his soft lips, his touching mine. It was short, but meaningful.

"I...I love you. I love you, Sehun."

Sehun put his arms around me and hugged me tightly. "I love you too."

The next morning, we walked back to the school together. Nothing really changed. But, I felt safe next to Se Hun.

As he walked me to the cafeteria, Ga Eul came to us. Suddenly, Se Hun felt really uneasy.

"...Is there anything you need, Ga Eul?"

"Can I see you for a second?.."

I looked at Se Hun and nodded at him, releasing my hand.

When we arrived at a quiet classroom, Ga Eul made coffee for the both of us. Though I was pleased, the feeling seemed weird.

As she finished, she placed the two cups on the table and sat in the chair in front of me.

"...Do you know who did all of this to you, Seo Young?"

"...No. But if you know, can you tell me?"

"You're so funny sometimes, I don't know if you're trying to be smart with me, or you're just plain stupid. Here's a hint: that person is in front of you."

"...You...did all of this?"

"Good for you! You finally know the answer." She rolled her eyes.

"What an idiot, so the rumors were true. First, you seduce my first love, then you leave him for another person. Slut. Just end up in hell alone, without your parent who are both in heaven already."

Too angry to say anything, I threw my hot coffee and splattered her face with it.

"I'm the real idiot? Look at yourself before you look at me. You think I'm a slut? At least, I'm not the one flirting with every guy out there."

"HOW DARE YOU THROW THAT AT ME?!"

She grabbed my hair and pushed me against the wall. Kicking me, punching me in the face, I felt no pain, knowing I've already been hurt enough living on this world. Standing still, I kept silent.

"Why?...Because I'm giving you something you desperately need..A reality check."
