“I’m so happy to be here.”

“I’m happy you're here too.” I said back to Katherine, returning her smile as we sat across each other in my office.

Seeing Katherine at my door, that day not so long ago was a really great thing and I had immediately started questioning her after the shock wore off. I had then found out that Lucy had been the one to give her my address so Katherine could surprise me.

And that explained Lucy’s manic smiles and sly side glances.

I had then moved to introducing her to everyone that day but I had still been looking at her in awe. Because though we had never broken contact since we saw each other months ago, she had been working in Europe last I heard but had also told me she had finished her model campaign there. She never told me she was coming to work in new york, though.

I had thought she would come during Fashion Week of course but not now when it was still months away.

Her coming was a pleasant surprise though, because she had helped in lifting my spirits. She was working for a fashion house to help promote their new clothes but every time she had on her hands were spent in my house, at my store or with both of us hanging out outside both places.

Although, I knew Andrea was jealous, and it made me smile as I thought of it because she never really liked Katherine before meeting her but now that she had met her, I knew she felt like she was stealing her best friend but at the same time, she couldn't deny liking her above all that because you couldn't just not like Katherine.

And Andrea wasn't an exception, she had finally warmed up to Katherine especially after she confronted her about it.

It had been funny to watch how Andrea had stuttered and spurted as she denied it but Katherine had just laughed and waved it off saying it was natural to feel like she was trying to steal me but that Andrea doesn't have any reason to feel that way because nothing like that was happening. Andrea had laughed too and before I knew it, they had started talking like old friends, going shopping together and going out for a night out at Andrea's club.

They had gone without me though, because I had refused adamantly no matter how they had begged.

Another good thing about Katherine's presence beside keeping me company was that she was helping my store. Katherine had ordered some of my shoes and helped promote them on social media before but now that she was in new york with me, she took it as a mission.

Which was great for me because she was succeeding. It was funny to me when the day she posted a picture of one of my flats on her feet and wrote something about my store, my customer base increased. More than tripled. It was overwhelming, a little hard to believe but really nice.

Mia had been so happy when this happened. Especially when I got a call from a fashion TV show to come display my shoes. I was working on new designs and though it was still a few weeks away, I was so excited about it. Because it would make me bigger and make me closer to my dreams coming true.

They were no longer past dreams, they were now things I still knew I could get if I wanted and worked towards it.

I heard the beep of Katherine's phone and looked up at her. She was reading a text while lounging in her chair.

She felt my eyes and looked up at me. “Andrea just texted to say she is on her way and wants to know if we have had lunch because she wants to buy cheeseburgers. Do you want some?”

My mouth watered as I thought of eating those cheeseburgers and I nodded enthusiastically. I was a little hungry and the thought of eating was taking away other disturbing thoughts that were about to come after thoughts of Katherine. Thoughts about someone I shouldn't have been thinking about.
