Andrea had been happier than I was about me being on Caden’s private jet—not his father's own or Kevin's—Caden's. She had told me about Kevin's but said he told her Caden's own was better.

I on the other hand, was more nervous than anything and Caden noticed and tried to reassure me as best as he could but I still found it hard to relax. The worst thing was that I had no idea why I was that nervous.

As the driver Caden hired drove us to the private airport that I'd never thought I'd be going to, I became more nervous. Caden was talking to his assistant, Sarah Linton on the phone while I chewed on my lips in agitation.

Caden was speaking to her about business related problems. From his words, she was to arrange meetings and a lot of other official things for him in LA.

I tuned him out and sat with him in the backseat, trying to understand why I was that nervous. I knew it wasn't only because of the private jet so I guessed it had something to do with my meetings with the investors, Mia, Matilda and I had arranged.

I was nervous, more like scared because…

I was absolutely scared of rejection.

We arrived and my mouth gaped while Caden gazed at me with amusement twinkling in his eyes but kept his hand on the small of my back for support as we moved towards his jet.

The outside of the jet was normal to me, nothing too extravagant, though it was obviously not a normal plane. And though the size of the jet still intimidated me like planes usually did, I felt excitement build in me. Anticipation built alongside it and I waited with bated breath to see the interior.

We ascended into the plane and I tried to keep an open mind as Caden immediately took us to the luxurious lounge. What I saw made a small frown form on my face as I took in all of it because I had always known Caden was rich but I had never really thought of it and now it felt kind of too much and like I had to be extra extra careful. All thanks to Marcus.

The large space in front of me was filled with overstuffed sofas, anti-gravitational recliner-style seats and personal entertainment consoles. It was obviously designed to give utmost comfort and personal space.

Caden plopped down on the sofa and stretched out his legs. He smiled up at me, still standing, absorbing it all.

“I am never one to show off or try to impress but the look on your face is actually refreshing and makes it worth it.”

I gave him a sickly sweet smile that was tinged with a sarcastic look and he laughed softly. “You should sit though, we will be taking off soon.” He patted the space next to him, “We have more than four hours to ourselves alone.”

I ignored him and sat at the opposite side of him, looking at him way over there. “There is crew, so we are not alone.”

Caden was about to reply when a drop dead gorgeous woman in her twenties walked in in her air hostess uniform and six inch heels.

Caden gave her a warm smile that made something ugly rear up in my heart. She returned the smile and said, “Good day, Mr Crawford. Is there anything you need?”

Excuse you?

Her eyes flitted in my direction then widened as she took me in. I had no idea what went through her mind but she quickly regained composure. So, all I saw was surprise. But at what, or why, I'd no idea.
