Chapter 18; Bloody Head

**Katie's POV**

I woke up ready for school. It was kind of gloomy outside so I had a feeling this was gonna be a bad day. I started to get dressed and heard Seth scream. He was probably being his idiot self and stepped on another one of Legos he leaves around this house. I heard a few more bangs. It sounded like the Legos were being out into its 'action packed Legos bin'. I finished up my makeup and the door creaked open slowly. I looked over to see Ashley and tears staining her face. "aww! What's wrong?" I mid yelled and ran towards her and picked her up. "mu- mu-mummy" "mommy what?" "mummy is leaving" I looked at her wide- eyed and put her down quickly. I ran down the stairs and saw Seth lying on the floor crying and him pushing dad away. I ran out the door and saw my mom start her start the car. "mom!" I sprinted to her at and slapped the window "shit" I said under my breath. She rolled the window down maybe 2 to 3 inches. I saw enough just to see a bruise near her eye. "mom" I said under my breath. "I'm so sorry honey. I can't handle it anymo-" "mom. Please don't leave me! Please" I was sobbing at this point. Thank god I wore water proof makeup. "I'm sorry, its your dads fault James is gone. Its his fault I'm gone." she said and started the engine. She rolled the window up and left me stranded in the middle of the street. I walked back in and checked the clock. I had to go up close cause my eyes were blurry. It was 7:05. I had 55 minutes to be to school. I turned around and saw Seth still struggling with dad. I was steaming with anger, I walked quickly up to them and yelled at my dad to leave us alone. He got up slowly and walked away. I don't know where. But he was gone. I heard a drawer slam and a door slam right after. He was gone. Seth wrapped his arms around me. His knee was scraped and was bleeding. I grabbed a box of band- aids. Green. His favorite. I put it on his knee and patted it quickly and he giggled a little. Something about that always made him happy. I picked Ashley up and held Seth's hand and set them infront of the T.V. And turned on Chuggington and called a baby sitter. By the time the babysitter came I checked the clock again, 7:20. I kissed Ashley and Seth's foreheads, grabbed my backpack and headed out the door. I out my earbuds in and started listening to Demi Lovato. Lightweight, Get Back, oh no. For The Love Of A Daughter. Skip. Ooh La La Land. I started walk- dancing to it and it entertained me for half a block. When I got to school I saw Hayes and instantly started smiling. He didnt even look at me and passed me up going towards Gracie. My slime went away quickly. He walked right up to Gracie and they started talking. I watched closely and then Hayes kissed Gracie infront of my eyes. And this kiss wasnt short, it was long. I felt crushed again. I turned around quickly and started for the door. I walked into home room and walked and sat next to this guy named Chase.I just sat there remembering what had happened this morning. "what's wrong?" he looked at me concerned "oh. Nothing" I wore a fake smile. He put two fingers on my face around my mouth and pulled it down. I think he attempted to make me stop smiling. "tell me" he demanded. I told him my story ad he pulled me I for a hug. "sitting down?" he started laughing. "I don't know. I'm an ammeuature" I laughed and saw Hayes at the corner of my eye looking at me. Then he walked over to his seat. Sitting next to Gracie and her friends. Then when the teacher walked in and one of the girls stood up and showed the whole class a video of Hayes in his moms bra. I started laughing so hard and then I heard him say "What if Katie See's this?!" I started blushing really hard and then I heard "I HATE KATIE" I looked up to see Hayes holding Gracies hand. "I LOVE GRACIE. KATIE IS SO..... FAT" Gracie just looked up at him and made that face like 'seriously?!' I stood up quickly and started running for the door and hit past Hayes hard. It hurt. But it wasn't as bad as it did in the car crash. Oh the car crash. I started sobbing and running at the same time. I couldn't see and ran into a locker door that was left open. I hit it so hard it slammed shut. I fell back and started laughing. I felt pain on my head so I rubbed my head and saw blood. Everything started to fade out...
