Kaya's POV

Life has been so exciting! School is hard and exhausting but I feel accomplished and I'm studying something I love.

I and Shawn haven't been texting as much I'd like too because he is so busy. I know he's at home until his world tour and we need to see each other again before he leaves.

Its this odd mix of needing to see each other and wanting to take things slow, things are already a little complicated.

Layla's POV

I'm so stressed out because I'm trying to get Shawn Mendes to come to Kayas 19th birthday party next weekend. I need to steal his number from her phone or something!

I need this to work for Kaya because I know she would remember her 19th birthday for the rest of her life. Also, Shawn is so hot so it wouldn't be a bad thing to have a conversation with him.

I have a great idea...

Shawn and Kaya on FaceTime.

Kaya: "Hey ice dancer whatcha up to?" I say all giggly.

Shawn: "Aha I knew you liked my skating skills."

Kaya: "Maybe a little.... but, it was still the wrong lift"

Shawn: "It didn't feel wrong to me Kaya," He says looking into the camera very deeply. I really wish this was in person.

Kaya: "No it didn't feel wrong at all." I say biting my lip by accident.

Shawn: "Kaya I need to see you again. I'm still in Pickering for the next week pick a time and date and I will be there."

Kaya: "Shawn don't be silly, you're too busy. Let me work with you."

Shawn: "Damn Kaya let me be a gentleman please." He said wholeheartedly.

Kaya: "Okay well if you insist... " I hear a knock on the door. Layla wants to say hi to Shawn probably to tell him to come to my birthday party.

I was just going to tell him anyway, but I knew she would remind him. She is such a good friend to me. "Get in here!" I yell.

She runs in and hugs me on the bed, hoping it would make Shawn a little jealous. She says "This girl can finally drink next week Shawn, You need to come!" she yells at my laptop.

Shawn: "You can count that I will be there. I can't wait to see you, Kaya."

Kaya: "Shawwwwnnnn, you're making me blush in front of my roomie"

Shawn: "Gooooddddd," He said mockingly, in a very deep voice.

Andrew then comes in the background and puts his hand on Shawn's shoulder to get his attention. He says "dude we gotta head out" He had another small recording session in a couple hours in Toronto. I wish he could come see me but I have a midterm this afternoon. Our schedules were so busy.

I had a small epiphany that I knew I would make it work.

Shawn's POV

Talking to Kaya feels to natural. She is so funny. I knew I had to see her soon.

I needed to kiss her soon.

I introduced her to my team already because when I first saw her I knew.

I've been on FaceTime with her on and of all day because I can't get enough of her.

I feel like we might be taking things too fast but I don't want things to slow down.

She's been studying all day her hair in a messy bun flopped to the side of her head. I wish I could run my fingers through her hair and hold her.
