Legal at Last (Part 1)

Kaya's POV

Shawn literally has me lovesick. I have been losing sleep because he is all my mind can think of. ALL my thoughts lead back to him.

In class, I can't focus on anything my professor is saying because I have these weird daydreams.

One of them that keeps happening to me: Shawn is sitting next to me, with his hand on my thigh. My attention is drawn to wherever Shawn's hands are on my body.

I call my dad telling him that I've met this boy who changed everything.

I miss home also so hearing his voice reminds me of where I came from, the place I can't wait to bring Shawn.

Growing up with just a dad I've learned to have high standards, to protect my heart. He has taught me the kind of man I deserve. He has shown me what a gentleman looks like, a man like Shawn. I know Shawn's dad has taught him the same.

I don't often tell my dad about the boys I'm interested in because it creeps him out a bit watching me grow up, but I had to tell him about Shawn. I wouldn't be telling my dad if I didn't think Shawn was something extremely special.

Layla's POV

I've planned Kaya's party to a T. All her friends are going to be here to surprise her when she gets home from class. Then we're taking pictures with balloons and polaroid's while we are still sober.

Pre-drinks in the apartment then Shawn pulled through and is having a limo drive us around the whole night. Kaya is really lucky to have him, they're so cute together already. I've never seen her happier.

Then I've planned for us to go to three bars! Obviously, us, her friends, are buying the drinks for her as her present. I have rooms booked in each one so we won't get harassed by gross people in the bar tryna get up in this.

She's never really been to a party, she's never really been drunk so I hope she has fun. I really hope I can talk to Shawn too because I don't know much about him. I've only seen him in the apartment a few times with Kaya.

I also think Shawn booked a hotel room downtown for the two of them after the bar hopping we plan on doing. What a lucky girl.

Shawn's POV

I've been waiting for this all week! I know she's going to be so vibrant and beautiful on her birthday. I'm so excited for her to make memories with all her friends but I'm even more excited for us to make more memories together.

I spent every moment I can talk to her. I have inspiration for music coming out my ears ever since I met her.

I'm soaking up as much time with her as I can drive to her apartment at least once a day. I feel like I can't go a day without seeing her. Usually it's only for an hour or so because I'm doing so much prep before my tour.

I really don't know how the tour will affect us. it's a once in a lifetime experience I wish she could come with me but she has to finish her semester.

I always forget that I already have my career set and doing what I love every day where she is just beginning her life. I'm so excited to watch her grow into a beautiful little bean.

Tonight I can't have too much fun because we will be in public downtown Toronto and I don't want to create a bad reputation. Also, don't want drama and rumours going around right before my tour and new music releasing soon. I'm hoping most of the fun will happen in the hotel room I booked that I'm going to surprise her with.
