I'm trying to keep my cool, but it's getting very hard. I don't know what I possibly expected but it wasn't this.
Hyungwon Chae. CEO of Chae co. He's standing here with a crushing smile in such a well tailored suit that it should be illegal.
His team of leads, Jooheon, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Changhyuk, Shownu, and the COO, Hoseok or well Wonho, have an equally strong arua.
Flashing a star-stricken smile at Mr.Chae, I turn to look back at Yoongi, who immediately speaks up.
"Mr. Chae, you and the rest of your team can follow me this way. I'll show you around the building. Ms.Light and Ms. Heathcliffe will be waiting for us on the roof." Yoongi says politely while he and the rest of the guys walk towards the back of the 1st floor.
Yoongi is someone who was forced into working here by his parents because the Min family are great friends with my dad. Yet, he's one of the main people here who understand what I go through. As teenagers I ended up admitting how I feel about my life Yoongi. It was right before I became CEO. I didn't want to live any longer than need be and he understood.
He felt the same way, the only thing that help was the last two years of him and I being friends. He's like an older brother to me. Neither of us are an happier than we were then.
Apollo doesn't know any of this because she has enough issues without mine.
Immediately letting my smile slip as I turn around. Apollo and I let out a long sigh then glanced at each other followed by snickering.
We head towards the elevator until Baekhyun and Jeonghan, the two receptionists motion for us to come over.
I walk over to them while fixing the back of my hair to make sure it's still up in the bun I recently put it in.
"Ms. Light, were those the representatives of Chae co?" Baekhyun asks while looking Apollo and I over.
"Nice get ups." Jeonghan suddenly speaks.
"So not my choice." Apollo speaks up with a sigh.
"Baek, what'd I tell you, call me Kana, dude. Also, yes they were." I giggle.
"You got it, K." Baek says with a mock salute.
Apollo and I walk swiftly to the elevator and as soon as the door closes and the elevator starts to rise to the roof, we let out groans of irritation.
"Fuck, I dont want to play party entertainer in this damn tight ass pencil skirt." I exclaim exasperatedly.
"And I don't want to be in this dress so that makes to of us." She says sounding tired.
Same, Apollo. Same.
"I'm sorry you gotta go through this." I sigh out once we meet the roof floor.
The roof isn't the usual helicopter landing pad business type roof. The roof of this building has a large pool that glows with many different color lights, a poolside bar, and multiple cabanas.
The bottom of the pool has "LIGHT" written in the bottom of it.
I would definitely prefer to be at Apollo and I's house right now.
About 5 minutes later, Apollo and I have taken a seat at the bar and all of the guys have just arrived to the roof.
Everyone takes a seat at one of the nearest larger tables.
"Ms.Light this is a very nice workspace you have here. It's almost similar to mine." Hyungwon says with almost a challenging tone under his voice.
"Thank you, Mr. Chae. We've worked very hard to keep it this way." I respond while getting up and going to bar.
If I'm going to deal with this bullshit I need something to keep my mouth busy so I won't say something that will bite me in ass later.
Once I was almost out of earshot of the table, I swear I just heard snickering and something along the lines of "Chae be professional, stop checking her out."
Oh, no. Well, I men's two can play that game but I'm not willing to join. Have fun, Chae.
"Sup, Kana. Long day?" Jongin, the bartender, who so happens to have his brother Taemin work here with him, asks.
"Very. Can you make something light? Not very strong." I ask while fixing the thin wrist watch adorning my wrist.
"K, you're not lightweight. Does it really matter?" Taemin asks from behind Jongin.
"No, but still." I reply with a small grin.
"Make something for Apollo, also. Very light and lemonade-ish. You know the deal." I explain while taking out my personal phone.
Two minutes later they hand me one cup of light almost clear tinted liquid and one of a pink color. The cups are gorgeous as always.
"Thanks guys." I respond while putting my phone up and grabbing the glasses.
Once, I sit down, I hand Apollo her drink. She looks at me quizzically then shrugs.
"Now that your back Ms.Light, we we-" Chae starts but I cut him off.
"Light." I interrupt.
"What?" He says while biting his lip curiously.
Damn.
"Light. You can drop the Ms. You're probably older than me anyway." I state.
"Okay, Light." He says while raising an eyebrow.
"Anyway, we were talking about how Chae Co's growth percentage is over 40 percent." Chae says proudly.
You little..
"Light Enterprises is over 50 percent." I state while I hope for the love of coffee that someone takes this conversation over.
"Really? How nice." He says as I tighten the grip around
Im so sick of this facade of bullshit professionalism. What the hell. I can tell he has to be faking, he can't be this much of a perfect little angel.
"Keep it together, Kana." Apollo says quietly next to me.
"I'm trying. Also, Jiho better be nice at your lunch." I quietly respond back.
I have always had mixed feelings about Jiho. He seems too perfect. Like it's an act. Apollo never tells me much about him but I wish she would.
"Yeah." She responds.
"So, Light what's your favorite drink?" Chae suddenly asks me from across the table.
Kookie and Namjoon immediately start to choke because they know the answer. I mix.
Well at least the conversation is switching.
