Gale picked me up at about 6:30 pm. He came dressed in a full tux and I was wearing a strapless tight black dress. I wore a big necklace with little silver jewels and it really complimented my outfit, I think. I had my hair curled, and I even went for some wicked cool makeup.
I opened the door and he couldn't keep his eyes off my body.
"Hi," he managed and I blushed.
"Let's go have some fun," I said and I smirks at him as I grabbed my jacket and my clutch.
He held my hand as he walked me out to his car.
"Here you are my lady," he said in a cute way as he opened the door for me to get in. I smiled at his nice BMW.
Nothing like what Harry drives.
I shook my head at the thought of him. Harry had a girlfriend. I smiled as Gale got in and turned the music on softly.
"So this place is supposed to be amazing," he said as we started to drive down the street. "I've had reservations for a few months now, it was either for a girl or my mom," he admitted and I laughed at the idea of him taking his mom. She was such a funny woman.
"Well I'm glad I could come," I said and he leaned over and kissed my cheek.
"You look amazing too," he complimented and I smiled.
"Thank you."
Harry's POV:
We were downtown NYC eating at a this fancy place when I was messing around on my phone and I dropped it on the floor.
"Shit that sucks," Louis said as I picked it up and it was shattered.
"Ouch," said Niall at the same time and I shook my head.
"Whatever," I said and then as I went to set it down I missed the table and it dropped again. "What the fuck?!"
The boys started laughing and I joined, but I was annoyed. I was all messed up today for some reason. Could just be nervous for SNL tomorrow.
To make it worse- I couldn't get the damn thing to turn on and Zayn nudged me, just to have me look at a group of hot girls giggling at me.
But I didn't give a damn because none of them were Caroline.
And that's the problem. I haven't even cared to pay attention to look at other girls since she left my life.
Caroline's POV:
I ordered salmon and Gale ordered some exotic seafood I could even pronounce, but I guess that's what happens when you grow up with whatever you want. To be honest salmon was the only thing on the menu that I had eats, let alone heard of.
Gale was blabbing about some science research he was doing in his other classes, when I noticed a bunch of people staring to crowd around the front of the main doors. I could barely see behind Gale because his shoulders were so broad, but I felt like they were paparazzi. New York probs.
I cut Gale off. "Do you see all of those people out there?" I asked and pointed as he turned around. He looked for a second but turned back around towards me and shrugged.
"Probably some actor walking around," he said and I nodded. He grew up here, he would know.
The food came seconds later and before she left I got her attention. "Excuse me but do you know why there are so many people taking pictures?" I asked. There were flashes against the glass now and some of the waiters were working on blocking off the windows with these big heavy curtains.
She smiled a bit, "There are several celebrities that eat dinner here," she said and motioned across the room. "One of those boy bands just stopped by for some dinner, I suppose they want pictures. My apologies if it interrupted your meal."
I smiled. "It's no problem, thank you," I said and she walked away. I turned towards Gale and gave him a big smile. "Thanks so much for dinner," I said and he grabbed my hand.
His hands felt weird but I squeezed it and for some reason we both started laughing.
"You're welcome Caroline," he said and his expression stung my throat as I ate my dinner. I felt like I was using him. I couldn't honestly even say I like him.
Harrys POV:
I got up to find the bathroom when I noticed the paparazzi. I felt a burning sensation in my throat and I turned away as fast as I could. I stood on the stairs looking across the room when I saw a blonde girl.
I saw her talking to a waitress and then I watched the woman walk away. She turned her head my way for a split second, and I knew I had to be seeing things.
I ran across to get a good look at this girl, when the boy she was sitting with caught my eye. For some reason he was extremely familiar. His look made my chest thump and he grabbed the girls hand. She looked up and said something, and she smiled.
I knew that smile. I was in love with that little smile. I was in a daze when my eyes moved down to their hands. I felt my heart sink into my chest and I grabbed the railing to steady myself. I closed my eyes. This was only happening because I saw the paparazzi. It makes since, I was so used to using her as comfort, my mind is doing this automatically.
I opened my eyes and she was eating her dinner now. Caroline eating something from here of all places? Please. She would be happier with a pizza and some gummy worms. I know that. Me. Not him.
But it didn't matter anymore.
Caroline's POV
After dinner, I got up to find the bathroom. I went over to where the kitchen area was, and sure enough there was a bathroom right there. I went inside to do my business, and when I was done I was washing my hands.
I was standing at the hand dryer when a girl came in crying and ran to the first stall. I listened to hear if she was okay but all I heard was strong sobbing. I wanted to help her.
I was waiting for my hands to finish when the door swung open. "Jessica!" She shrieked and I couldn't help but stare. "Come out! They are leaving soon!"
"I love... I love...Them so much," she sobbed and opened the door. "They cant see me like this!" She shrieked.
I figured she was talking about the boy band I forgot about. She came out of the stall as I started to open the door and I was about to punch her when she grabbed my arm. She caught me off guard.
"Did you see them?!" She yelled in my face and I pulled my arm back.
"Excuse me?"
"ONE DIRECTION! OMG! Duh?!" She look annoyed at me.
I couldn't even stand up.
