We pulled up to a little grocery store about 30 minutes away from the edge of the little town I now called home. Harry parked the car in a spot and he unlocked the door. I looked over at him but he was already looking at me.

"Are you coming in?" I awkwardly asked.

"Eh, no, I'll wait right here for you," he said and I just nodded. I unlocked my door and climbed out.

I didn't turn back to look at Harry. I just walked right up to the little store and I grabbed a cart. I didn't want to keep him waiting so I went as fast as I possibly could.

As I walked down the rows of food, I realized that this place was designed for tourists. They didn't have everything I could have wanted, but I was going to make it work. I got milk, cereal, butter, boxes of food for dinners, and of course some bulk candy because that's what kept me happy.

I am actually surprised I'm so skinny. I mean, eating so much candy and never working out, it was just strange. I ran track in high school, but that seemed so long ago. I stayed a consistent 125 pounds. I was about 5'4 as well.

I was checking out and I pulled out my wad of money. I handed the woman $30, and that covered it. I walked out carrying about 6 bags and when Harry saw me he ran out of his side of the car and took the bags from me.

"I got it," he said and smiled when I tried to help him. I nodded and then we got back into the truck.

"Get everything?" He asked and he pulled out of the parking lot.

"Oh yeah, thanks again for taking me," I said and he smiled.

"My pleasure, anything to get me away from that uncle of mine," Harry said and we both laughed a little.

"He doesn't seem bad," I said and he shrugged.

"Nah, he's alright," Harry admitted.

I smiled and Harry looked over at me. "What about you?" He asked and I was confused.

"What about me?"

"Where is your family?"

"Ohio," I said and he raised and eyebrow.

"They sent you off with a wad of cash? No car or anything? Just to some lake in the middle of no where?"

"Well if you put it that way it makes it sound like they are horrible," I stated laughing a little.

"That's what I am kind of thinking," he said and I looked over at him. "I want to really know what's going on with you."

I shook my head. I like Harry's company and all, but I just couldn't let this out.

"I'll wait until you're ready then," he said and I looked over at him.

"I want to tell you, but I cant," I said and his eyed met mine.

"I know the feeling," he said and he looked away.

The rest of the ride was just small talk. When we got to my house he pulled up and got out. I opened my door to grab all of the bags, but he already had them and was walking up the the back porch. I jogged up to him with the house key in my hands and I opened the door. He carried the bags in a set them on the table.

I watched him with my arms crossed.

"What?" He said when he caught my gaze.

"I could have done that!" I said and he laughed.

"I'll see you later?" He said and I nodded, walking him to the door.

"Are you really going to walk back?" I asked when he handed me the keys to the truck.

"I am, I am," he said and I grinned.

"It's going to start raining any minute," I said looking up at the sky even though the trees were blocking my view of the sky.

"Rain never hurt anyone," he said and started walking.

I stomped my foot. "Harry please don't walk home in that," I said and he turned around. "I'm going down there in a few hours anyways, just stay here," I said and I caught a big smile spread across his face. His dimples were so cute.

"Fine, if I must," He said and just then it started to pour rain.

I started laughing and I ran inside, with Harry following. He pulled off his boots and I smiled. I didn't picture him doing that; the gentleman part. I headed inside and started to put all of my items away. Harry watched and he grinned when I pulled out my bag of candy.

"Sweet tooth?" He asked and I smiled, opening it up. "Me too," he said eating the skittles I handed him.

After I was done I sat down at the table with him. "So what do you do when it rains?" I asked and he looked as if he were thinking. "TV sometimes, but that's never really fun," he said and I grinned.

"How long have you been here?" I asked and he started counting on his fingers.

"Only about 4 months," he said and I guess I looked shocked because he laughed.

"I cant picture you being anywhere else," I said and he smiled.

"What did you do in Ohio when it rained?"

"Whatever I usually did," I admitted. It was true, I hadn't watch TV since last night when it turned on with the power.

"Which was?"

"Chores," I said and he frowned.

"That's all you did?"

I nodded. I wasn't one to lie, besides something small like this didn't matter.

"Did you have siblings?" Harry asked and I didn't know how to answer. I rolled my head around in a circular motion really slowly and he chuckled. "Jillian you can tell me."

"Not biological," I said and he nodded.

"So your parents adopted your siblings?"

"Not exactly," I said. I figured I can tell Harry everything. I mea honestly, I wasn't giving anything away. The only thing he cant know is that I am running away and that they abused me. "I was.. An orphan," I admitted and looked down.

"That's interesting," he said and I looked up. " So is this a joke or what?" he asked and I was super confused.

"A joke?"

"You're 19, are you not, going on 20, but you were an orphan until a few days ago?" He asked and I slowly nodded. "You wouldn't have come from there then, you were clearly somewhere else," he said and my heart was beating really fast. "Lying so I feel bad for you," Harry said and made a weird laughing noise.

"I," I started but he was already standing over me.

"I thought you were fucking different," he said and I felt tears spring to my eyes. I really thought we were becoming friends. He would be my first friend in years. "You're not making me feel bad for you," he hissed. "You aren't getting fucking money out of me," he said and before I could speak he was storming out of my house.
