That night I sat inside of my little dorm applying makeup and trying to make myself look good.
Harry left to go get ready for the show, and I would have to get there in an hour. I insisted on finding my own ride, but instead Harry sent his driver.
My nerves were flying although I was so excited. SNL was supposed to be such a funny show but I haven't really seen it before.
Just the fact that I would be behind the cameras of a TV show was amazing to me. I never thought I'd get the chance to say that.
Harry also promised me that after they perform he will come and sit with my in the crowd, which makes me feel good so I won't be alone the whole time.
I'm beyond excited to see One Direction perform though. I have to say that's probably the biggest part of it, I don't even want to wait all that time for the performance to actually begin. I finished putting my makeup on and I looked at myself in the mirror.
I didn't look like myself.Harry's driver, Jeff, picked me up and drove me downtown. There was another man in the front seat, but while they talked quietly I sat in the back and looked out the window.
There was so much to do in New York, it was amazing. I always wanted to go to Chicago or Seattle, but NYC was amazing.
We pulled up and the man in the passenger side opened my door. He smiled and I urged one back.
He was short and stocky, wearing a gray tux. He had gray hair, but he was mostly bald. He let out his arm for me and I took it lightly.
He led me through the crowd outside and escorted me inside the building.
"This is where you'll be seated," he said motioning for a little seat with my name engraved on a little metal sheet.
"Thank you," I said having a seat. He nodded and headed on his own way. I looked around, and people were filling up fast.
I almost had a heart attack when Will Ferrel walked out onto the stage talking to anther man.
My dad loved all of his movies, it was like looking at childhood memories. I was staring at him when someone tapped on my shoulder from behind. I turned around and there was a girl behind me.
"Hi there sweetheart," she said and I cursed in my head.
"Hello Fay," I said and she smirked. I looked over to her right and Claire and Sarah were walking in. I sprung up from my seat and ran as fast as my heels could take me.
"Caroline!" Sarah shrieked and I hugged her tight. I hugged Claire after and we stood there smiling.
"What are you guys doing here?!"
"Harry invited us," Sarah replied and I nodded.
"Where have you been?" Claire asked.
"I had to come home, college," I tried to explain but she but her lip.
"Harry actually told us more details," she whispered and Sarah put her hand on my shoulder. I bit my lip and nodded.
"You're hair looks great. Lets have a good night. Okay?" Saraht insisted and I smiled.
"Sounds great."
We sat through the short into, and then the boys came out. I felt butterflies in my stomach when Harry came out on the stage, he looked amazing.
He looked my way and I smiled, but then he turned his head the other way. He didn't have his perky smile on his face, just a simple little line that was pressed into a little smile, maybe.
They sang a song called afternoon delight, which was adorable. I remember it from a movie, specifically because Will Ferrel was up there.
After they sang, the show actually started.
I sat and I clapped, and I laughed, but I couldn't keep the performance off my mind. When it came on, I could deal with myself.
All the lights when off and the stage came on, and the music started.
Harry was the first one to sing, and his voice was even more gorgeous than I remember. They way that they moved in a circular motion as they took turns singing was amazing. They were just born to be performers.
The story of my life.
I felt the awkwardness of Fay behind me. I tried to ignore her, but my heart was beating. After the boys were done singing their 2 songs, I darted to the bathroom.
I sat in there pretending to be going through my wallet, but really I just wanted this thing to be over.
But why did Harry invite Fay? I know that those guys are his close friends but it's ridiculous. Then again, he invited then before he found me.
But seriously. Fay?
Jesus take the wheel.
