Jack sighed for the 30th time that night. He was currently trying to get the ex-boogie boys to go to bed, and they were currently doing everything they could to be difficult. Lock was hanging from his tail on a hook up in the rafters, and Jack was still trying to comprehend how the tiny six year old had got up there. Shock was flinging knives at the wall, and Barrel was practicing jiu jitsu, muttering something incoherent. Sally peered in, looking concerned. "Any luck?" She asked. Jack shook his head. Did the trio ever get tired? "I'm starting to think that they never sleep." He joked. There was a thud from behind them, and Jack turned to see Lock had fallen from the rafters and landed on Shock. He pulled himself off her, wincing. "Ow, ow, ow, ow- HOLY PUMPKINS!" Shock then pulled herself off the floor, and glared at him, "Do you mind? I was-" she stopped, and stared at their arms. One of her throwing knives had gone through their arms, the handle sticking out of hers, and the sharp point poking out of Lock's elbow. Barrel stopped his martial arts and stared in amazement. "Awesome!" He squeaked. Sally stumbled into the room and sat next to to the two eldest trick or treaters, who were still freaking out. The ragdoll hushed them. "If you want that knife to stay in your arms, I suggest you continue your screaming!" Lock and Shock fell silent, grimacing in pain. Sally smiled, pleased they were actually listening for once. "Now, I'm going to pull it out on three, ok?" They nodded. "Ready? One, two, three!" Sally tugged the knife out, and quickly wrapped their arms with bandages. Lock and Shock were trying not to scream in pain, and instead resorted to laying down. Sally carefully picked them up, and placed them in bed. Jack quickly scooped up Barrel, and placed him under the covers too. Jack and Sally turned the light off and shut the door, leaving the trio alone in the darkness. Shock lay awake for awhile, trying to ignore the pain in her arm. She could hear Barrel snoring quietly on the other side of the room. And she could her something that worried her. Slipping out of bed, she tiptoed over to Lock's bed, and sat on the end of it. He was quietly sobbing to himself, obviously trying not to. "You're still thinking about that day, huh?" She whispered. Shock looked down. She hated it when one of her brothers was upset, as she was often powerless to do anything. Lock glared at her, his yellow eyes flashing in the darkness. "How could I not?" He hissed, "I almost died. It's been 200 years, and I'm still scared of-" Shock wrapped her arms around him, embracing him lightly. "I know." She murmured. "If I could change that day's events, I would. If I could change the outcome of mine or Barrel's accidents, I would. But there's nothing we can do about it now." She smiled, and looked him in the eye. "But I'm always here, ok?" Lock nodded, "Yeah, ok." Shock grinned, and headed back to bed. As she was falling asleep, four words drifted into her mind.
The truth will out.Aww, Shock's actually being a nice sister! But will we find out the truth? Well you'll find out eventually. We might just be discovering a secret of Barrel's in the next chapter... ~ Rubz
