"What happened?" Shock snarled at her youngest brother, who had just rushed into the room with Jack and Sally. Barrel rested a surprisingly gentle hand on her shoulder. "Easy, you and Lock had a bad fall." He told her. Shock shook her head, trying to get rid of the throbbing pain in it. "How?" She asked.
"You fell down three flights of stairs." Barrel explained. "It's a miracle you weren't hurt any worse than you are." Dr Finklestein wheeled over them, and glared at the two trick-or-treaters, "You dislocated your arm and gave yourself a severe nosebleed," he nodded over to Lock, who was asleep again. "Your foolish brother over there dislocated his knee and gave himself a concussion." Sally hobbled over to the table and turned to her creator. "Have you managed to completely heal them?"
The doctor scoffed, "I'm a scientist, not a magician. I could only pop their bones back into place and stop the girl's nosebleed. I can't do anything for the boy's concussion I'm afraid." Shock suddenly felt very worried. The muscles in arm screamed in protest as she moved it, but she tried to ignore the rising pain. "Will he be okay?" She asked, following Jack and Sally's gazes to Lock's still form. "He should be alright, just make sure he tries to rest. It won't do his leg much good to walk too much either." Dr Finklestein informed them. Shock nodded, and reached over to Lock, before the pain in her arm spiked once more, and the world turned black.~Timeskip brought to you by Shock's hat~
Barrel sat in the living room of Skellington Manor, swinging his feet over the edge of the couch. Shock had passed out from the pain in her arm back at the Doctor's lab, and Lock still hadn't awoken. He looked up when Sally poked her head in. "We need to go out and grab some things, are you alright watching them?" She asked. Barrel nodded, and the ragdoll smiled. She left the room, and a moment later Barrel heard the front door close. He continued to sit in silence, before he saw Shock awaken. "Are you alright?" He asked her quietly. She nodded, hissing slightly as she moved her injured arm, and sat up. "How's Lock?" Barrel shrugged, looking over at his brother, still full of guilt. "He hasn't woken up since you passed out." As he spoke, Lock began stirring. The devil boy sat up slowly, his eyes still shut, and leant against the back of the couch. "You ok?" Shock asked. Lock opened his eyes, and Barrel and Shock jumped back slightly. One of Lock's pupils was much bigger than the other, and he looked like he'd just received a beating from Oogie. "What?" Lock scowled, tail flicking behind him in agitation. "Eyes..." Barrel stated, still shocked. Shock whacked him upside the head with her broom. Barrel glared at her as Lock grabbed his handy dandy on hand mirror. "My eyes! MY HAIR!" He yelled. When he had fallen his hair had gotten badly messed up. Shock and Barrel was dumbfounded as Lock immediately started to comb his hair. "Dude! Your eyes are freaking out and YOU WORRY ABOUT YOUR DAMN HAIR?!" Shock exclaimed. Lock glared at her. "My hair needs to be perfect at ALL TIMES!" He went back to his hair, completely ignoring his siblings. Shock and Barrel sighed and started to play poker. "Oh by the way Lock, you can't use your leg for awhile." Shock said, boredly. "WHAT!?" The devil exclaimed dropping the comb but quickly grabbing it. He mumbled curses while going back to combing. Shock and Barrel snickered and continued their game, betting with candy and insects. Once Lock was satisfied with his hair, he sat down on the couch, ignoring the throbbing pain in his head. "So how am I meant to go upstairs if I can't use my leg?" He snapped. Barrel didn't look up, and simply collected a large pile of candy. "Don't know, don't care." He squeaked. Shock grinned. Lock snarled at his brother, and made to stand up, but the pain in his leg stopped him. As did Shock shoving him back onto the couch. "If you want to go somewhere, don't get up." She told him.
Lock glared at her. "I want to go upstairs, is that too much to ask?" Shock smirked. She loved annoying her brothers. "Yes." She snickered. Ignoring his protests, the seven year old picked up the devil boy with some difficulty, given that one of her arms had just been shoved back into it's socket, and hurried upstairs. "Put me down!" Lock snarled. Shock obliged, and immediately the idiot tried to stand up again. But he felt disoriented and nauseous when he did so, and he sat back down. Barrel had scampered after them, and grinned at his brother's misfortune. "Concussion getting the better of you?" He asked innocently, with a not so innocent grin.
"Shut up." Lock growled, scowling at Barrel. Shock walked out of the room and called behind her, "I'm gonna get us something to eat." The witch girl was at the top of the stairs, when she started to panic. Shock froze up, unable to speak, as long-buried memories suddenly rushed back to her.Mwahahaha!! Another cliffhanger! ~ Rubz
