"For the last time, I said drop it!"
Sally cringed as she heard Lock's roar of anger from upstairs. She was currently attempting to make something she knew they would love: Snake and spider stew. Jack was out all day dealing with work, so Sally had been left with the boogie boys. She was trying to figure out what part of the snake was used in the stew. Tempted to give up, she put down the rather unpleasant ingredients and hurried upstairs, and she could hear screaming, crying, and fighting. Opening the trio's door, she gasped in horror. Lock and Barrel were attacking each other with increasing ferocity. Shock was trying to pull them apart, and getting a few blows aimed at her too. Sally rushed forward and helped Shock wrestle the two apart. Lock's breath was coming in gasps, the scar over his eye had reopened, as had the knife wound in his arm. Barrel was snarling at his brother, his face littered with bruises. "What's the meaning of this?" Sally asked. Barrel pointed at Lock, throwing him under the bus. "He started it!" The youngest trick-or-treater squealed. "He punched me!" Lock then threw Barrel under the metaphorical bus, and snarled, "It was you! You don't know when to keep your big mouth shut and stop asking questions!" Shock then tried to intervene, "Guys, neither of you started it! Barrel happened to slip, and accidentally pushed Lock into the lagoon! Okay?" She bluffed, desperately hoping the two boys would believe the lie. Lock narrowed his eyes. "Alright, you got off lucky. But watch it, pipsqueak!" He snapped at Barrel. Barrel nodded swiftly. Sally smiled, glad the issue was resolved. She then decided to try and cheer them all up. "Listen you three." All three trick-or-treaters turned to face her. "Now, Jack wanted this to be a surprise, but it's better that you choose it." Barrel looked suspicious, as if he didn't trust the very words. "Choose what?" He asked.
"Well Jack and I decided that since you're going to be here for a while, your bedroom should be a little more suitable for you." The trio looked thrilled. Finally, someone was making sense! "So you and Jack want to give us a room we actually like?" Shock checked. Sally nodded. Lock still looked sceptical. "How do we do that?" Sally stood up, and led them downstairs. She sat them down in the living room, "I want you three to write a list of things you'd like in your bedroom. When Jack gets back, I'll go and fetch the furniture you want, and you can arrange it however you like." The ragdoll explained. Lock, Shock and Barrel actually looked quite happy. She left them to write the list, and quietly hurried upstairs to the trio's bedroom. Once inside, she searched through their walking bathtub, hoping to find a recipe for the snake and spider stew. Finding a small piece of folded paper, Sally opened it, relieved when she saw the desired recipe. Heading back to the kitchen, she began preparing the stew, this time knowing what she was doing.Ooh, snake and spider stew in the next chapter! Along with some room renovations! ~ Rubz
