Chapter 38: Night

Briana's POV

"Let's go night swimming." Ashton smirked. 

"I'll meet you outside in about.. 10 minutes?" I replied. 

"Make it 5 and I won't push you in." He smiled. His smile could light my whole day up, well in this case night. I nodded. I got up from the couch but whispered into his ear, "I can't promise anything.." 

"Me neither babe." He winked. I chuckled and went up the stairs into my room. I changed into an aqua bikni. I put some shorts on and I grabbed a towel from the bathroom.

I walked outside to the backyard. Our backyard looks so pretty when it's night time. My mom used to have parties every weekend. Family and friends used to come over. The pool has lights built into it, so does the outside walls of the house. Ashton was on his phone and sitting on one of the chairs. "You ready Ash?" I asked. 

"You're a minute late." He said standing up. "You know what that means." He smirked. 

"You're not gonna jump in with me." I laughed. I turned around, my back now facing Ashton. I took of my shorts and placed it on top of my towel. Before I could turn back around, Ashton scooped me up and put me over his shoulder. 

"Ashton!! Put me down!" I screamed. 

"What's the magic word?" I heard him say. 

"Please put me down?" I pleaded. 

"Strike one" I already knew he was smirking. 

"Ashton is amazing?" 

"Strike two." He chuckled. 

"Ashton is so hot and is the greatest boyfriend of all time?" 

"Strike three. We were looking for 'Ashton you are so amazingly hot and the greatest boyfriend is the  world, can you please put me down?'" He said. I started laughing then all of a sudden he jumped into the pool. The cold water magically woke me up. I swam to the surface and looked for Ash. "Boo!" He scared me.

"Stop Ashton, that wasn't funny." I rolled my eyes. I swam to the shallow side of the pool and lifted my body up to the ledge. Ashton did the same.

"Damn this is major deja-vu." Ashton chuckled a bit. 

"What do you mean?" I asked, while pulling a loose strand of hair behind my ear. 

"Remember our first kiss? It was here. I asked you why do you call me Ashton instead of Ash. Then you started explaining and then I kissed you by surprise." He said. I nodded my head, remembering the memory. 

"You guys went swimming without us?" I heard Dacey say. I looked up and saw Dacey and everyone else in their bathing suits. "We thought you were sleeping." Ashton replied. 

"Sleeping? You're acting like you haven't known us for 3 years." Calum laughed. 

"Cannonball!!" Lana and Michael yelled while jumping into the pool.

After drying off, we all gathered around the fire. It was around 2 a.m. Everyone was tired of swimming and having a good time. Calum had fallen asleep on Hayley's lap, while Dacey fell asleep on Luke's lap. Michael and Lana were still wide awake, don't know how they have all this energy. Ashton was about to knock out. So was I. 

"I'm happy that we're back home." Luke whispered. 

"Same here." I agreed. 

Today was the best day ever. I was surrounded by people that I love. We didn't worry about anything, just about having fun.

3 years later

I woke up from my sleep and checked the time on my alarm clock. 6:45 A.M. I got up out of bed and hopped into the shower. After I was done, I changed into a plaid blue shirt, along with my white shorts. Since my hair was still wet, I pulled it into a messy bun and combined it with a blue bandana. I slipped on my grey vans. I put on the bracelet Ashton gave me 3 years ago. Our 'first date' to the carnival. I also put on the sunglasses that he gave that day. 

Once I got the the kitchen, I made myself breakfast. By breakfast, I mean cereal. After I ate, I brushed my teeth. I checked the time on my phone. 7:20 A.M. I grabbed my keys and made sure not to wake up anyone. I got into my car and drove off to school.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm in college. I attend University of Sydney, which is 30 minutes away from my house.  I'm studying to be a speech therapist. Yes I still do live with the boys and girls. Well the girls mostly come and visit some days. But I live mostly with the boys. The boys stay home, while the girls go to college. Hayley goes to Sydney Law School to become a lawyer, Lana goes to St. John's to become a maths teacher while Dacey goes to Sydney College of the Arts.

"So how was school Bri?" Michael asked. 

"It was good. How was staying home?" I replied. 

"It was great. The boys and I played video games and watched movies." He said. I chuckled, typical boys. "Where's Ashton?" I asked. Michael looked up from his phone and looked at Luke who was sitting on the couch. Luke looked at Calum. 

"Dammit. Um, he's at his mum's house." Calum answered. I eyed him suspiciously. "Of course he is. I'll just go visit him then."

"Don't!" Luke yelled. 

"And why not?" I asked. The boys looked at each other, trying to find an answer. "I'm waiting."

"Because-" Michael started. 

"I'm back." Ashton said coming through the door. I turned around and ran to hug him. 

"Hey babe, I missed you." He whispered in my ear. 

"I did too.." I smiled. 

"I just had to pick something up from my mum's house. But I'm back." Ashton shrugged. "Come join us for a video game Ash!" Calum said. Ashton gladly joined. I walked up the stairs to go do my homework and study for tests.
