Chapter 13: The New Girls

Briana's POV

Once I arrived at school with Dacey we saw someone sitting at the bench in the office. "Who's that?" Dacey whispered. I took the courage to go up to the girl and talk to her. She had ear buds in her ears under her long brown hair. She had brown eyes looking down at her notebook and she was small in height, judging by her legs. I tapped her on the shoulder and she looked up, taking her earbuds out to listen to me. "Um, hi.. Are you new here?" I asked.

"Yeah.. I just moved here from Hawaii." The girl said. 

"Cool, What's your name?" I asked. 

"Carolyne. Yours?" 

"Briana and this is Dacey." I said. I pulled Dacey by the arm and introduced her. "Hi" She said awkwardly. 

"Do you want us to show you around the school?" Dacey asked.

"Sure! Do you want to see my schedule?" Carolyne said. 

"Yeah!" We both said. We both looked down at the piece of paper it was the same one as us but just like us, 6th and 7th period we don't have. "You have the same schedule!" Dacey said. Carolyne squealed and hugged us. "Great!" The school bell rang and we all went to 1st period. 

By lunch, Carolyne had told us everything about her. She was 15 years old and a surfer. She came to Australia because of her mum's job and she liked the waves here. After she told us some left over details at the lunch table she took out her phone to check something. Once she unlocked it, her music came up and said, "5 Seconds Of Summer, Somewhere New EP" 

"You like 5 Seconds Of Summer?" Dacey asked. 

Carolyne looked up and said, "Yeah, how about you?" 

Dacey looked at me and mouthed, 'Tell her.' 

"Okay so, I know I shouldn't tell you this but, you're kind of our friend now.. So, I live with them.." I whispered. 

"Live with who?" Carolyne asked, clearly confused.

I looked down at her phone and pointed at 5SOS's name. Carolyne looked up quickly and clearly in shock.

"No. You live with them?!" She almost yelled. 

"Shhhh. Yes. My brother is Michael." 

She was about to scream but I covered her mouth. Once she relaxed she said, "That's so cool! I'm a Calum girl. I went to their concert in America once.. It was amazing." 

For the rest of the day, we all talked about the band, my band and hawaii and Australia and what not.

I arrived home and yelled, "I'M HOME!" 

"We're out here!" I heard Michael yell. 

I walked out to the backyard and saw Luke tanning, Calum on his phone by the pool, Ashton swimming, and Michael with a girl?!

"Hey Briana." They all said in unison.

"Michael who's this?" I asked. 

"Oh sorry. That's so not polite.. I'm Patricia, but you can call me Trisha." Patricia said. 

"Nice to meet you.." I said. She smiled and her white teeth showed. "Me and Patricia met at Starbucks." Michael said. 

"Cool.." I said. Patricia smiled and then pecked Michael's lips. They continued to kiss as I walked away to Luke. "Hey Luke, how's Dacey?" I asked. He groaned and said, "She's fine thanks for asking." I laughed and walked towards Ashton. "Hi Ashton. Whatcha doing?" 

"I"m swimming." He said and swam away. 

I continued to walk to Calum. Before I said a word, he looked up and said, "Hey Bri! Can I talk to you for a second? Inside?" I nodded and walked in front of him to inside. Michael wasn't paying attention because of Patricia. 

Calum was behind me but then went in front of me and took my hand. He guided me to the movie room and shut the curtain as the door. "So what's this ab-" 

I was cut off by Calum kissing me. I was about to give in but then remembered. THIS IS CALUM! I pulled away and shoved him. "Dude?! What was that?" I yelled. 

"I.. I..." 
"You what?!" 

"I thought... you liked me.."Calum said looking down.. 

"What made you think that?!" I said a little to mean. It made Calum frown and he was about to go. "No Calum wait. I'm sorry. Why did you think I liked you? I mean in 'that' way?" I said using air quotations. 

"You kissed me yesterday and hugged me. So I mean who wouldn't think a pretty girl like you would like someone like me?" Calum said looking down blushing. 

"Aw Calum.. You're like a brother to me.. I mean I do like you but you're like my other brother!" I said. 

"Oh.. I totally misread that.." Calum said, chuckling. 

"I'm sorry I made you think that.." I said hugging him. He hugged me back and kissed my hair. "It's okay."
