Celeste

It was only about ten minutes before Drake flew through the door, a look of rage on his face. His eyes met mine, and it was like he was punched in the chest. "You have her eyes." He whispered. He looked like Father, Taller, muscular, blonde hair, blue eyes, and golden skin. I always laughed at the human's version of vampires, pale, dark, scary. "Who are you?" He asked and I sighed, "Nyx has sent me to bring peace to the races. The wars break her heart. My name is Celeste." He narrowed his eyes, "How can a human bring peace? You would be slaughtered." I laughed, "Brother, you can try." He looked as if he had been slapped, "Brother? You are not my sister, I have but one sister, Helen." I rolled my eyes, "Yes, I know about Helen and Luke, you were born many years before me, but Mother and Father thought that I may be able to restore peace between the three of you and the humans." He snorted, "By sending a human?"

"I am not human, Brother. I am born of Aether and Nyx and for twenty-three years, I have trained to end the war, one way or another." He snarled and launched at me, grabbing me by the throat and lifting me off the ground. "Listen to me, child. I could snap your neck like a twig. You cannot threaten me." I smiled, "Go ahead, snap it, Brother." He snarled again, "Stop calling me that, you aren't my sister!" then, he snapped my neck. I allowed myself to go limp and fall to the floor. Remmy gasped, "What have you done, Drake? She was telling the truth, she looks just like your mother!" Drake hissed at Remmy, "Get rid of the body and I don't want to hear another word about it." With that, he stormed out.

Remmy dropped to his knees next to me and lifted me into his arms, "I am sorry, Little Flower. Your brother's heart is hard. He wants peace but is too prideful to ask for forgiveness." I felt him stand and carry me outside. He placed me in the backseat of a car and it began to move. I was so glad that I could hold my breath for a very long time. After a few minutes, we stopped and I heard him ask for a moment alone. As the car door closed, I opened my eyes and Remmy almost screamed, "What in the fuck?" I chuckled, "I cannot die, Remmy. I was telling the truth, it saddens me that Drake will not talk to me. Please, don't tell him that I live. I need to try and talk to Luke and Helen, maybe with their help, we can be a family again and end the war." Remmy smiled, "I will not tell him, I support that mission. Luke is up in Oregon somewhere and I believe that Helen is in New Mexico. Good luck, Little Flower."

"What were you going to do with my body?" I asked he sighed. "He would have wanted you to be buried some place he could visit. He knows that you weren't lying and when he figures it out, he will be very sad." I nodded, "Then you should still do that, I will climb out later." He buried me and  I waited for a few hours before digging my way out and heading back to my apartment. Remmy left me a note saying that he would make sure that my stuff was left alone. I took a shower, dressed in jeans and a tee shirt, grabbed my luggage, and left. I walked for an hour before buying a pickup truck, a brand new Ford f-250, black and drove to Oregon to find Luke. I prayed I had better luck with him, having your neck broken sucks.

I drove for a few hours before I pulled into a small clean hotel for the night. I ordered pizza, took a shower, and collapsed into bed. Then next day, I did it again. I finally reached Oregon and drove to a heavily wooded town, Father said the werewolves like the woods, I had to agree. My wolf needed to run. She was pissed that it had been so long, but L.A. was not the best place to let her out. When the sun fell and the moon rose, I called to check in with my mother, she was unhappy about Drake, but I told her not to worry. I smelled the town and couldn't smell any wolves, so after checking into a motel, I went for a hike. Once I was deep in the woods, deep enough that humans wouldn't go, I shifted. My wolf was red, like my hair, and large, like an alpha. She ran for hours, leaping and hunting. We caught a few rabbits and a deer. Once she was sated, I headed back to the hotel for a shower and sleep.

The next day was spent trying to find a town with a heavy population of werewolves. I found it, right before I entered Washington. A small town called Redwood Hills. It was almost completely wolf. I think there may have been a handful of humans. Everyone was watching me as I parked in front of the row of cabins that made up the hotel. I could feel their tension, an unknown human in their territory and I knew it wouldn't be long before the Alpha would be talking to me. I walked into the cabin labeled office and there was a burly, older man sitting behind the desk. "Can I help you, Young lady?" I smiled brightly at him, "I was looking for a place to stay for a few nights. I may end up staying longer, but I'm not sure yet." He nodded with a small smile, "OK, well, sign in here and it'll be $50 a night. You can put a credit card on hold, if you'd like." I offered him my card and signed the book. He handed me a key and my card back, "You're in cabin five. Have a nice stay and if you're hungry, Mel's diner is the best in town." I thanked him and pulled my truck in front of cabin five.

After a shower and fresh clothes, I headed to the diner. I walked because the town was small and there was no reason to drive. I had my dagger down in my boot, never leave home without it. When I walked into the diner, everything stopped and all heads turned to face me. Well, that's awkward. I smelled the air, all wolf, no human. Spectacular. I headed to a booth in the back and sat with my back to the wall, I didn't trust a soul.
