Chapter 6

Celeste

I was always fast about getting clean, I was showered and dressed in fifteen minutes, Mason was impressed. We loaded my bags in my truck and he drove it to the pack house, "So you must be important to Luke." I smiled, "I helped his mate, she's going to be ok now." He laughed, "Of course you did, you're the Hero. Mate saver, you saved mine and Luke's." Before he could say anything else my stomach roared, reminding me that it had been a while since my last meal. Mason threw his head back and laughed as we parked in front of the pack house. An enormous log cabin that I fell in love with. "Well, I'll get the guys to take your bags to your room and I will show you to the kitchen before your stomach tries to eat the pups." I threw him a glare, "I don't eat pups, Alpha, but full grown men are another story."

I heard laughter behind me and saw two tall, well-built men standing there, one had brown hair with hazel eyes and the slightly taller one had blonde hair and blue eyes. "Good thing we are mated, Huh, Alpha?" Hazel eyes barked out. Mason rolled his eyes, "Celeste this is my Beta Cameron and his mate and my Delta, Benny." I smiled at the men, "I'm Celeste-" Cameron scooped me up in his arms and crushed me in a hug, "The girl who saved my sister and her pup! You are my hero!" I wheezed and Benny chuckled, "Um, Honey buns, I don't think she can breathe." I wheeze- laughed, "Honey Buns! That's classic!" Benny smirked as Cameron let me go, "Well, what do you call your mate?" I shifted foot to foot, "I, um, Where's the kitchen?" I didn't wait for an answer, I ran into the house.

I followed my nose and found the kitchen quickly. Several heads whipped in my direction, but Linda squealed, "It's you!" she launched her pregnant ass right into my arms. "I'm so glad you came back." I chuckled as I released her, "I'm glad you are ok. Mason said something about food and maybe having to sacrifice a Beta to eat?" I asked as I saw Mason, Cameron, and Benny slinking in behind me. Cameron scoffed, "As if, chicky. I am Beta, I can beat every ass here, except the Alpha." I snorted, "Right, sure." His eye narrowed playfully, "OK, it's on." My stomach rumbled again. "It's on after you eat or else that thing may just eat me." He added.

Linda loaded a plate with food and I was so grateful. After I was finished I tried to help clean, but all the women pushed me out. Cameron was leaning on a fence as I walked outside. "Look, in all seriousness, Benny didn't mean to upset you. Did your mate die?" I smiled, "No, I don't have a mate." He furrowed his brows, "Honey, everyone has a mate, werewolves, vampires, even witches. You aren't human, I am not sure what you are, but you definitely ain't human, so you have a mate." I rolled my eyes, it was the last thing on my mind. I was tying my hair up in a ponytail when Luke's voice reached me, "He's right, you know. I called Dad. He told me that you have a mate, he just wanted you to focus on the mission. I reamed his ass about it and I will be calling Mom about it too. You are a person, not a damned machine." I looked into Luke's green eyes, eyes that matched mine, and sighed. "This war is important to everyone, far more important than me finding love."

Cameron bowed, "King Luke!" He elbowed me, "Bow, he's a King, you ninny!" I laughed, "I don't bow to my brother, that's insane." Luke laughed, "She has a point." Cameron, Mason, and Benny's jaws dropped, "You're his sister?" Mason choked out. I nodded, "Ok, well, I am not all wolf. Do you all know the origin story?" They nodded. I continued, "Well, I was created to be the common ground and the ultimate weapon, all their strengths, none of their weaknesses. I am vampire, wolf, and witch. A hybrid, so to speak. It took our parents centuries to come up with a way to create me and now, here I am." Luke smiled, "Show me." I nodded and shifted in my red wolf, eyes widened, all of them stared in shock. I shifted back, fully clothed. "That is the most useful magic." I said, smiling. I bared my fangs and Cameron jumped back, making me laugh. Then, I made Mason's hair begin to randomly change colors. Right now, it was neon pink.

"I am also immune to silver." I said taking my dagger out of my boot. They all cringed, the blade buzzed like a bee to them. I stabbed my arm, the blood oozed and Luke gasped. I wiped the blade off on my jeans and replaced the knife. In seconds, the wound healed. Luke let out the breath he was holding, "OK, don't do that, you had me worried." I eyed him, "Where's Penelope?" He blushed, "She's sleeping." I laughed while the guys all hooted at him. My phone rang and I saw it was Astrid. "Hey there, Aunt Astrid. What's up?" My eyes met Luke's and he grinned. "Well, since the cat is out of the bag, I thought I would give you a heads up on your mate. He is close to you, in fact, he belongs in the pack next to you. Have fun, love ya!" With that, she hung up. I looked at Luke and he roared with laughter. I growled at him, "Stuff it, Brother." He smirked at me, "So, little sister, you're mate is in the pack next to here? That would mean he is in the Stargazer pack, how perfect is that?" I rolled my eyes, "Listen, it has been a long ass day, I'm tired and annoyed. So, I propose I get some sleep before you try and play matchmaker or else I may end up killing someone." They all chuckled and Luke agreed, "You're right, ok, Mason, take you to her room. We will meet up in the morning and make a plan about how to handle this and the war between my brother, sister, and I." With that, we all parted ways, me following Mason to my room.

He smiled as we reached the third floor, "This is the Alpha and Beta floor, but don't worry, all of the rooms are sound proof. I did that after Cam and Benny mated, they make sooo much noise." I chuckled and Cam hollered, "You know it turns you on!" The look of absolute horror on Mason's face had me doubled over with laughter. He threw me a glare, "Go to bed, Hero."
